ከእነርሱም በኀይል ይበልጥ የበረቱትን አጥፍተናል ፡ ፡ የፊተኞቹም ( አጠፋፍ ) ምሳሌ አልፏል ፡ ፡

wherefore we destroyed peoples mightier than these in prowess ; and there hath gone forth the example of the ancients .
ከእነርሱም በኀይል ይበልጥ የበረቱትን አጥፍተናል ፡ ፡ የፊተኞቹም ( አጠፋፍ ) ምሳሌ አልፏል ፡ ፡

are you disbelievers mightier than those of the nations which we destroyed before or have you received amnesty through the ancient scriptures ?
ከሓዲዎቻችሁ ከእነዚህ በላጮች ናቸውን ? ወይስ ለናንተ በመጽሐፎች ውስጥ ( የተነገረ ) ነፃነት አላችሁን ?

every person of them shall have the sin that he has earned charged to him . as for he who took upon himself the greater part there is a mightier punishment .
እነዚያ መጥፎን ውሸት ያመጡ ከናንተው የኾኑ ጭፍሮች ናቸው ፡ ፡ ለእናንተ ክፉ ነገር ነው ብላችሁ አታስቡት ፡ ፡ በእውነቱ እርሱ ለእናንተ መልካም ነገር ነው ፡ ፡ ከእነርሱ ( ከጭፍሮቹ ) ለያንዳንዱ ሰው ከኀጢአት የሠራው ሥራ ዋጋ አለው ፡ ፡ ያም ከእነሱ ትልቁን ኀጢአት የተሸከመው ለእርሱ ከባድ ቅጣት አለው ፡ ፡

and many a city , mightier in strength than the city which drave thee forth , we destroyed them , and there was no helper of theirs .
ከከተማም እርሷ ከዚያች ካወጣችህ ከተማህ ይበልጥ በኀይል ጠንካራ የኾነች ( ባለቤቶችዋን ) ያጠፋናቸው ብዙ ናት ፡ ፡ ለእነርሱም ረዳት አልነበራቸውም ፡ ፡

and he had property . then he said unto his fellow while he spake with him : i am more than thou in substance and am mightier in respect of retinue .
ለእርሱም ( ከአትክልቶቹ ሌላ ፍሬያማ ) ሀብት ነበረው ፡ ፡ ለጓደኛውም ( ለአማኙ ) እርሱ የሚወዳደረው ሲኾን « እኔ ካንተ በገንዘብ ይበልጥ የበዛሁ በወገንም ይበልጥ የበረታሁ ነኝ » አለው ፡ ፡

and how many a generation did we destroy before them who were mightier in prowess than they , so they went about and about in the lands . is there a place of refuge ?
ከእነርሱም ( ከቁረይሾች ) በፊት ከክፍለ ዘመናት ሕዝቦች ብዙዎችን እነርሱ በኀያልነት ከእነርሱ ይበልጥ የበረቱ የኾኑትን ( ማምለጫ ፍለጋ ) በየአገሮቹም የመረመሩትን አጥፍተናል ፡ ፡ ማምለጫ አለን ?

and he possessed much wealth ; so he said to his companion , while he disputed with him : i have greater wealth than you , and am mightier in followers .
ለእርሱም ( ከአትክልቶቹ ሌላ ፍሬያማ ) ሀብት ነበረው ፡ ፡ ለጓደኛውም ( ለአማኙ ) እርሱ የሚወዳደረው ሲኾን « እኔ ካንተ በገንዘብ ይበልጥ የበዛሁ በወገንም ይበልጥ የበረታሁ ነኝ » አለው ፡ ፡

are my kinsmen mightier with you than allah that you ( hold the kinsmen in awe while ) you cast allah behind your back ? surely my lord encompasses all what you do .
« ሕዝቦቼ ሆይ ! ጎሳዎቼ በእናንተ ላይ ከአላህ ይልቅ የከበሩ ናቸውን ( አላህን ) ከኋላችሁ ወደ ጀርባ አድርጋችሁም ያዛችሁት ፡ ፡ ጌታዬ በምትሠሩት ሁሉ ከባቢ ነው » አላቸው ፡ ፡

have they not travelled in the land to see the fate of those who went before them ? they were more numerous and mightier and left greater traces of their power on the earth ; yet all that they accomplished was of no avail to them .
የእነዚያን ከእነርሱ በፊት የነበሩትን ሕዝቦች ፍጻሜ እንዴት እንደነበረ ይመለከቱ ዘንድ በምድር ላይ አይኼዱምን ? ከእነርሱ ይበልጥ ብዙዎች በኀይልና በምድር ላይ በተዋቸው ምልክቶችም በጣም ብርቱዎች ነበሩ ፡ ፡ ያም ይሠሩት የነበሩት ከእነርሱ ምንም አልጠቀማቸውም ፡ ፡

and why is it that you do not spend in the way of allah , when the inheritance of the heavens and earth belong to allah alone ? those who spent before the victory and took part in the fighting are mightier in rank and are not equal to those who spent and fought thereafter .
የሰማያትና የምድር ውርስ ለአላህ ሲኾን በአላህ መንገድ የማትለግሱትም ለእናንተ ምን አልላችሁ ? ከእናንተ ውስጥ ( መካን ) ከመክፈት በፊት የለገሰና የተጋደለ ሰው ( ከተከፈተች በኋላ ከለገሰና ከተጋደለ ጋር ) አይስተካከልም ፡ ፡ ከእነዚያ በኋላ ከለገሱትና ከተጋደሉት እነዚህ በደረጃ በጣም የላቁ ናቸው ፡ ፡ ሁሉንም አላህ መልካሚቱን ተስፋ ቃል ገብቶላቸዋል ፡ ፡ አላህም በምትሠሩት ሁሉ ውስጠ ዐዋቂ ነው ፡ ፡

and he had fruit , so he said to his companion while he was conversing with him , " i am greater than you in wealth and mightier in [ numbers of ] men . "
