dan benda-benda itu tidak dapat menolong mereka, dan tidak juga dapat menolong dirinya sendiri.
and cannot provide any help to them, nor do they help themselves?

"serta dikatakan kepada mereka: ` mana dia benda-benda yang kamu sembah dahulu -

allah berfirman: "wahai adam! terangkanlah nama benda-benda ini semua kepada mereka".
allah said: o adam! declare thou unto them the names of those objects.

"dan allah telah menumbuhkan kamu (hidup dari benda-benda yang berasal) dari bumi, dengan pertumbuhan yang sungguh-sungguh sempurna,
"'and allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually),

(bukan benda-benda yang dipertuhankan itu yang memberi kesenangan kepada mereka) bahkan kami biarkan mereka dan datuk-nenek mereka menikmati (kesenangan hidup) hingga berlanjutanlah umur mereka (dalam keadaan yang menyebabkan berlaku perkara yang tidak diingini mereka).
