then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

but now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting god, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
apan nga karon gikapadayag na, ug pinaagi sa mga sinulat sa mga profeta gikabutyag na ngadto sa tanang kanasuran, sumala sa gimbut-an sa dios nga dayon, aron sa pagmando kanila ngadto sa pagkamasinugtanon sa pagtoo--

he that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
sa mosalig kanako, sumala sa giingon sa kasulatan, `gikan sa iyang kasingkasing modagayday ang mga sapa sa tubig nga buhi.`"
