40 elia aber sprach zu ihnen: greifet die propheten baals, daß ihrer keiner entrinne! und sie griffen sie. und elia führete sie hinab an den bach kison und schlachtete sie daselbst.
40 and elijah said to them, seize the prophets of baal; let not one of them escape! and they seized them; and elijah brought them down to the torrent of kishon, and slaughtered them there.

1 david aber dachte in seinem herzen: ich werde doch eines tages saul in die hände fallen; es gibt nichts besseres für mich, als daß ich entrinne ins philisterland. dann wird saul davon ablassen, mich fernerhin zu suchen im ganzen gebiet israels, und ich werde seinen händen entrinnen.
1 and david said in his heart, i shall now perish one day by the hand of saul : there is nothing better for me than that i should speedily escape into the land of the philistines; and saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of israel : so shall i escape out of his hand.
