by the great mighty one ( gabriel ) ,
የዕውቀት ባለቤት የኾነው ( አስተማረው ፤ በተፈጥሮ ቅርጹ ኾኖ በአየር ላይ ) ተደላደለም ፡ ፡

he ( gabriel ) then came nearer and nearer .
ከዚያም ቀረበ ፤ ወረደም ፡ ፡

the honest spirit ( gabriel ) brought it down
እርሱን ታማኙ መንፈስ ( ጂብሪል ) አወረደው ፤

and he has already seen gabriel in the clear horizon .
በግልጹ አድማስም በእርግጥ አይቶታል ፡ ፡

he certainly saw him ( gabriel ) during his other ascent
በሌላይቱም መውረድ ጊዜ በእርግጥ አይቶታል ፡ ፡

in truth he saw him ( gabriel ) on the clear horizon ,
በግልጹ አድማስም በእርግጥ አይቶታል ፡ ፡

thamood , they were destroyed by the violent shout ( of gabriel ) ,
ሠሙድማ ወሰን በሌላት ጩኸት ተጠፋ ፤ ( ተወደሙ ) ፡ ፡

he certainly saw him ( gabriel ) high up on the horizon in his original form
በግልጹ አድማስም በእርግጥ አይቶታል ፡ ፡

so when we have recited it [ through gabriel ] , then follow its recitation .
ባነበብነውም ጊዜ ( ካለቀ በኋላ ) ንባቡን ተከተል ፡ ፡

we sent to her our spirit ( gabriel ) in the resemblance of a perfect human .
ከእነሱም መጋረጃን አደረገች ፡ ፡ መንፈሳችንምም ( ጂብሪልን ) ወደርሷ ላክን ፡ ፡ ለእርሷም ትክክለኛ ሰው ሆኖ ተመሰለላት ፡ ፡

( gabriel said to the prophet ) : ' each of us has a known place .
( ጂብሪል አለ ) ከእኛም አንድም የለም ፤ ለእርሱ የታወቀ ደረጃ ያለው ቢሆን እንጅ ፡ ፡

while he [ jibrael ( gabriel ) ] was in the highest part of the horizon ,
እርሱ በላይኛው አድማስ ኾኖ ፡ ፡

in it the angels and the spirit ( gabriel ) descend by the permission of their lord upon every command .
በርሷ ውስጥ መላእክትና መንፈሱ በጌታቸው ፈቃድ በነገሩ ሁሉ ይወርዳሉ ፡ ፡

who is an enemy to allah , and his angels and his messengers , and gabriel and michael ! then , lo !
ለአላህና ለመላእክቱ ለመልክተኞቹም ለጂብሪልም ለሚካልም ( ሚካኤል ) ጠላት የኾነ ሰው አላህ ለ ( እነዚህ ) ከሓዲዎች ጠላት ነው ፡ ፡

to him the angels and the spirit ( gabriel ) ascend in a day , the measure of which is fifty thousand years .
መላእክቱና መንፈሱም ልኩ አምሳ ሺሕ ዓመት በኾነ ቀን ውስጥ ወደእርሱ ያርጋሉ ፤ ( ይወጣሉ ) ፡ ፡

he has been taught ( this quran ) by one mighty in power [ jibrael ( gabriel ) ] .
ኀይሎቹ ብርቱው ( መልአክ ) አስተማረው ፡ ፡

if you repent to god , then your hearts have listened . but if you band together against him , then god is his ally , as is gabriel , and the righteous believers .
ወደ አላህ ብትመለሱ ልቦቻችሁ በእርግጥ ተዘንብለዋልና ( ትስማማላችሁ ) ፡ ፡ በእርሱም ላይ ብትረዳዱ አላህ እርሱ ረዳቱ ነው ፡ ፡ ጂብሪልም ከምእምናንም መልካሙ ከዚህም በኋላ መላእክቱ ረዳቶቹ ናቸው ፡ ፡

( muhammad ) , tell the people , whoever is an enemy to gabriel who has delivered the book to your heart as a guide and as joyful news to the believers ,
ለጂብሪል ( ለገብርኤል ) ጠላት የኾነ ሰው ( በቁጭት ይሙት ) በላቸው ፡ ፡ እርሱ ( ቁርኣኑን ) ከበፊቱ ለነበሩት ( መጻሕፍት ) አረጋጋጭ ለምእመናን መሪና ብስራት ሲኾን በአላህ ፈቃድ በልብህ ላይ አውርዶታልና ፡ ፡

if you conspire with each other against him , know that god is his guardian . gabriel , the righteous ( ones ) among the believers and the angels will all support him .
ወደ አላህ ብትመለሱ ልቦቻችሁ በእርግጥ ተዘንብለዋልና ( ትስማማላችሁ ) ፡ ፡ በእርሱም ላይ ብትረዳዱ አላህ እርሱ ረዳቱ ነው ፡ ፡ ጂብሪልም ከምእምናንም መልካሙ ከዚህም በኋላ መላእክቱ ረዳቶቹ ናቸው ፡ ፡

and she ( mary ) who guarded her virginity . we breathed into her of our spirit ( gabriel ) , and made her and her son a sign for the worlds .
ያችንም ብልቷን የጠበቀቺውን በርሷም ውስጥ ከመንፈሳችን የነፋንባትን እርሷንም ልጅዋንም ( እንደዚሁ ) ለዓለማት ተዓምር ያደረግናትን ( መርየምን አስታውስ ) ፡ ፡
