on 21 july 1997, the government denied that aziz bouabdallah had ever been arrested by the security forces.
وفي ٢١ تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٧، أنكرت الحكومة أن تكون قوات اﻷمن قد ألقت في أي وقت القبض على عزيز بو عبد الله.

the special rapporteur had also received information alleging that mr. bouabdallah was held in a detention centre in algiers and had been tortured during the first month of his detention.
كما تلقى المقرر الخاص معلومات تدعي بأن السيد بوعبدالله قد أُحتجز في مركز اعتقال في مدينة الجزائر وأنه عذﱢب خﻻل الشهر اﻷول من اعتقاله.

the ambassador referred to a letter dated 31 may 2005 which was sent to ohchr from one of the authors, mr. ltaief bouabdallah, the author of case no. 189/2001.
فأشار السفير إلى رسالةٍ أرسلت في 31 أيار/مايو 2005 إلى المفوضية المفوضة السامية لحقوق الإنسان من أحد مقدمي الشكاوى، وهو السيد لطيف بو عبد الله، صاحب القضية رقم 189/2001.

by letter dated 18 december, the government of algeria informed the special rapporteur that with regard to the case of mr. aziz bouabdallah, the investigation undertaken by the ministry of justice had shown that he was neither questioned nor arrested by the security forces.
٣٦- وأبلغت الحكومة الجزائرية المقرر الخاص، برسالة مؤرخة في ٨١ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر، فيما يتعلق بحالة السيد عزيز بوعبدالله، أن التحقيق الذي أجرته وزارة العدالة قد بيﱠن أن قوات اﻷمن لم تستجوبه ولم تقبض عليه.

according to information received by the special rapporteur, mr. aziz bouabdallah disappeared on 12 april 1997, after having been abducted by three individuals who had allegedly identified themselves as members of the security forces, in front of his family.
ووفقاً للمعلومات التي تلقاها المقرر الخاص، فإن السيد عزيز بوعبدالله قد اختفى في ٢١ نيسان/أبريل ٧٩٩١ بعد أن اختطفه أمام أسرته ثﻻثة أفراد اُدعي أنهم عرّفوا أنفسهم بأنهم أفراد في القوات المسلحة.

1.1 the complainant is mr. bouabdallah ltaief, a tunisian citizen, born on 2 june 1967 in gabès, tunisia, and resident in switzerland since 18 march 1999, where he has refugee status.
