then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
Եւ բոլոր մաքսաւորներն ու մեղաւորները նրա մօտն էին, որպէսզի լսեն նրան:

then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, master, what shall we do?
Մաքսաւորներն էլ եկան մկրտուելու եւ հարցրին նրան. «Վարդապե՛տ, մե՛նք ինչ անենք»:

for if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
Եթէ սիրէք միայն նրանց, որոնք ձեզ սիրում են, ձեր վարձն ի՞նչ է. չէ՞ որ մաքսաւորներն էլ նոյնն են անում:

and if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
Եւ եթէ միայն ձեր բարեկամներին ողջոյն տաք, ի՞նչ աւելի բան էք անում. չէ՞ որ մաքսաւորներն ու մեղաւորները նոյնն են անում:

and all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified god, being baptized with the baptism of john.
Եւ երբ ամբողջ ժողովուրդը լսեց, նոյնպէս եւ մաքսաւորները, ընդունեցին Աստծու արդարութիւնը՝ մկրտուելով Յովհաննէսի մկրտութեամբ:

and, behold, there was a man named zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
Եւ ահա մի մարդ, Զակքէոս անունով, որ մաքսապետ էր ու մեծահարուստ,

and levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.
Եւ Ղեւին իր տան մէջ նրան մեծ ընդունելութիւն տուեց, եւ մեծ թուով մաքսաւորներ եւ ուրիշներ նրանց հետ սեղան էին նստել:

and it came to pass, as jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
Եւ երբ Յիսուս նրա տանը սեղան էր նստել, ահա բազմաթիւ մաքսաւորներ ու մեղաւորներ եկան բազմեցին Յիսուսի եւ նրա աշակերտների հետ:

and when the scribes and pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, how is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?
Իսկ օրէնսգէտներն ու փարիսեցիները երբ տեսան, որ նա մաքսաւորների եւ մեղաւորների հետ է ուտում, նրա աշակերտներին ասացին. «Ինչո՞ւ էք մեղաւորների ու մաքսաւորների հետ ուտում եւ խմում»:

the son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
Եկաւ մարդու Որդին. ուտում է եւ խմում. եւ դուք ասում էք. «Ահա ուտող եւ խմող մի մարդ, մաքսաւորների եւ մեղաւորների բարեկամ»:

the son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. but wisdom is justified of her children.
Եկաւ մարդու Որդին. ուտում է եւ խմում. եւ ասում են՝ ահա ուտող եւ խմող մարդ, բարեկամ՝ մաքսաւորների եւ մեղաւորների. բայց իմաստութիւնը արդարացուեց իր որդիների կողմից» :

and it came to pass, that, as jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.
Եւ երբ Յիսուս նրա տանը սեղան նստեց, բազում մաքսաւորներ եւ մեղաւորներ էլ Յիսուսի ու նրա աշակերտների հետ սեղան նստեցին, որովհետեւ շատերն էին նրա յետեւից գնում:

whether of them twain did the will of his father? they say unto him, the first. jesus saith unto them, verily i say unto you, that the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of god before you.
Արդ, երկուսից ո՞վ կատարեց հօր կամքը»: Նրանք ասացին՝ վերջինը: Յիսուս նրանց ասաց. «Ճշմարիտ եմ ասում ձեզ, որ մաքսաւորներ ու պոռնիկներ ձեզնից առաջ պիտի հասնեն արքայութիւն,

and after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, follow me.
Դրանից յետոյ, դուրս ելաւ այնտեղից եւ տեսաւ մի մաքսաւորի, որի անունը Ղեւի էր, եւ որը մաքսատանը նստած՝ գործի վրայ էր: Յիսուս նրան ասաց. «Իմ յետեւից արի՛»:
