( solomon ) said : " soon shall we see whether thou hast told the truth or lied !
তিনি বললেন -- ''আমরা শীঘ্রই দেখব তুমি কি সত্য বলছ, না তুমি মিথ্যাবাদীদের মধ্যেকার?

said sulaiman , “ we shall now see whether you spoke the truth or are among the liars . ”
তিনি বললেন -- ''আমরা শীঘ্রই দেখব তুমি কি সত্য বলছ, না তুমি মিথ্যাবাদীদের মধ্যেকার?

( solomon ) said : we shall see whether thou speakest truth or whether thou art of the liars .
তিনি বললেন -- ''আমরা শীঘ্রই দেখব তুমি কি সত্য বলছ, না তুমি মিথ্যাবাদীদের মধ্যেকার?

and so that he might cut off a portion of those who are bent on denying the truth or abase them so that they might be turned back frustrated .
যাতে ধবংস করে দেন কোন কোন কাফেরকে অথবা লাঞ ্ ছিত করে দেন-যেন ওরা বঞ ্ চিত হয়ে ফিরে যায় ।

solomon said : " set the throne before her casually , and let us see whether she gets to the truth or is one of those who are not guided to what is right . "
তিনি বললেন -- ''তার সিংহাসনখানা তারজন্য বদলে দাও, আমরা দেখতে চাই সে সৎপথ অবলন্বন করে, না সে তাদের দলের হয় যারা সৎপথে চলে না।’’

then who is more worthy of being followed -- he who guides to the truth , or he who cannot find the path until shown the way ? what has happened to you that you judge in such a wise ?
জিজ ্ ঞেস কর , আছে কি কেউ তোমাদের শরীকদের মধ ্ যে যে সত ্ য-সঠিক পথ প ্ রদর ্ শন করবে ? বল , আল ্ লাহই সত ্ য-সঠিক পথ প ্ রদর ্ শন করেন , সুতরাং এমন যে লোক সঠিক পথ দেখাবে তার কথা মান ্ য করা কিংবা যে লোক নিজে নিজে পথ খুঁজে পায় না , তাকে পথ দেখানো কর ্ তব ্ য । অতএব , তোমাদের কি হল , কেমন তোমাদের বিচার ?

[ sulaiman ( solomon ) ] said : " we shall see whether you speak the truth or you are ( one ) of the liars .
তিনি বললেন -- ''আমরা শীঘ্রই দেখব তুমি কি সত্য বলছ, না তুমি মিথ্যাবাদীদের মধ্যেকার?

and indeed we have distributed it ( rain or water ) amongst them in order that they may remember the grace of allah , but most men refuse ( or deny the truth or faith ) and accept nothing but disbelief or ingratitude .
