kad im brat njihov nuh reče: "kako to da se allaha ne bojite?

and how many generations have we destroyed after nuh (noah)!
i koliko smo samo naroda poslije nuha uništili!

and the people of nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people.
i narodu nuhovom od ranije. uistinu, oni su bili narod grješnika.

allah propoundeth for those who disbelieve the similitude of the wife of nuh and the wife of lut.
allah navodi primjer za one koji ne vjeruju: ženu nuhovu i ženu lutovu.

and before them the people of nuh belied, and so did the dwellers of rass and the thamud.
prije njih poricali su narod nuhov, i stanovnici ressa, i semud

and assuredly we sent nuh unto his people saying: verily i am unto you a plain warner.
i doista smo poslali nuha narodu njegovom: "uistinu! ja sam vam opominjač jasni,

and also the people of nuh aforetime. verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious.
