ပညာရှိသောသူသည် တန်ခိုးရှိ၏။ ပညာ အတတ်နှင့် ပြည့်စုံသောသူသည် ခွန်အားတိုးပွါးတတ်၏။

surely oppression maketh a wise man mad; and a gift destroyeth the heart.
အကယ်စင်စစ်၊ ညှဉ်းဆဲခြင်းသည် ပညာရှိ သောသူကို ရူးစေတတ်၏။ တံစိုးသည်လည်း စိတ်နှလုံးကို ယိုယွင်းစေတတ်၏။

a wise man's heart is at his right hand; but a fool's heart at his left.
ပညာရှိသောသူ၏ နှလုံးသည် မိမိလက်ျာလက် ၌ ရှိ၏။ မိုက်သောသူ၏နှလုံးမူကား၊ မိမိလက်ဝဲလက်၌ ရှိ၏။

a wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.
ပညာရှိသောသူသည် ကြောက်၍ ဒုစရိုက်ကို ရှောင်တတ်၏။ မိုက်သောသူမူကား မာနကြီး၍ ရဲရင့် တတ်၏။

if a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.

ထိုသူကို အပြစ်မရှိသော သူကဲ့သို့မမှတ်ရဘဲ၊ သင်သည် လိမ္မာသော သူဖြစ်၍ သူ၌အဘယ်သို့ စီရင် သင့်သည်ကို သိသည်နှင့်အညီ၊ ဆံပင်ဖြူသော ထိုသူ၏ ခေါင်းကို အသေသတ်ခြင်းအားဖြင့် မရဏာနိုင်ငံသို့ ဆင်းစေလော့ဟု မှာထားတော်မူပြီးမှ၊

therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, i will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
အကြင်သူသည် ငါဟောပြောသော ဤစကားကို ကြား၍နားထောင်၏။ ထိုသူသည် ကျောက်ပေါ်မှာ အိမ်ဆောက်သော ပညာရှိနှင့် တူကြောင်းကို ငါပုံပြမည်။

and who knoweth whether he shall be a wise man or a fool? yet shall he have rule over all my labour wherein i have laboured, and wherein i have shewed myself wise under the sun. this is also vanity.
ထိုသူသည် ပညာရှိမည်လော၊ မိုက်မည်လောဟု အဘယ်သူ ပြောနိုင်သနည်း။ ထိုသူသည် ငါကြိုးစား အားထုတ်သမျှ၊ နေအောက်မှာငါ့ပညာကို ထင်ရှားပြလေ သမျှသော အမှုတို့ကို အစိုးရလိမ့်မည်၊ ထိုအမှုအရာသည် လည်း အနတ္တဖြစ်၏။

i speak to your shame. is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
ထိုသို့ဆိုသော်၊ သင်တို့ရှက်စေခြင်းငှါ ပြောဆို၏။ သင်တို့တွင် ပညာရှိတစုံတယောက်မျှ မရှိသလော။ ညီအစ်ကိုချင်းတို့၏ အမှုကို စီရင်ဆုံးဖြတ်နိုင်သောသူ တစုံတယောက်မျှမရှိသလော။
