abgeleugnet hat 'aad.

seest thou not how thy lord dealt with the 'ad (people),-
hast du nicht gesehen, wie dein herr mit den `ad verfuhr

to the 'ad people (we sent) hud, one of their own brethren.
und (wir sandten) zu 'ad ihren bruder hud.

[the people of] ‘ad impugned the apostles,
'aad hat den gesandten der lüge bezichtigt.

and that it is he (allah) who destroyed the former 'ad (people),
daß er die früheren 'ad vernichtete

thamud and 'ad people denied the qari'ah [the striking hour (of judgement)]!
die tamud und die 'ad erklärten das verhängnis für lüge.

and to 'ad (people, we sent) their brother hud. he said: "o my people!
und zu den ad (entsandten wir) ihren bruder hud.

and in the 'ad (people) (was another sign): behold, we sent against them the devastating wind:
und (auch) in den 'ad, als wir gegen sie den unheilvollen wind sandten.

the 'ad (people) (too) rejected (truth): then how terrible was my penalty and my warning?

did you (o muhammad (peace be upon him)) not see (thought) how your lord dealt with 'ad (people)?
hast du nicht gesehen, wie dein herr an den aad gehandelt hat,

'ad (people) belied (their prophet, hud), then how (terrible) was my torment and my warnings?

such were the 'ad people: they rejected the signs of their lord and cherisher; disobeyed his messengers; and followed the command of every powerful, obstinate transgressor.
das waren die 'ad. sie verleugneten die zeichen ihres herrn und widersetzten sich seinen gesandten und folgten dem befehl eines jeden trotzigen gewalthabers.

auch entsinnt euch, als er euch zu nachfolgern von 'aad einsetzte und euch im lande wohnen ließ. ihr habt auf ihren auen paläste gebaut und in die felsengebirge häuser gemeißelt.
