what aileth you that ye expect not in allah majesty!

what aileth then this people, that well-nigh they understand not any speech
mais qu'ont-ils ces gens, à ne comprendre presque aucune parole?

allah said: o iblis! what aileth thou that thou art not with the prostrates?
alors [allah] dit: «o iblis, pourquoi n'es-tu pas au nombre des prosternés?»

and what aileth me that i should not worship him who hath created me, and unto whom ye shall be returned.
et qu'aurais-je à ne pas adorer celui qui m'a créé? et c'est vers lui que vous serez ramenés.

and they say: what aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked?

and, o my people! what aileth me that call you unto deliverance, while ye call me unto the fire!

et ils disent: "qu'est-ce donc que ce messager qui mange de la nourriture et circule dans les marchés?
