do not set up any other god with allah lest you are rendered humiliated and helpless.
اللَّه އާއެކު އެހެން إله އަކު ނުލާށެވެ! ފަހެ، އޭރުން މަލާމާތްލިބި، ނިކަމެތިވެގެންވާ حال، ތިބާ އިންނަންޖެހިދާނެތެވެ.

we shall give them some usage, then making them helpless take them towards a severe punishment.
ކުޑަހިނދުކޮޅަކަށް އެއުރެންނަށް ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ (ދުނިޔޭގައި) އުފަލާއި، އަރާމު ދެއްވާހުށީމެވެ. ދެން ގަދަފަދަވެގެންވާ عذاب އަކަށް އެއުރެން ހުށަހަޅުއްވާ ހުށީމެވެ.

tell them: “yes; and you are utterly helpless (against allah).”
ކަލޭގެފާނު ވިދާޅުވާށެވެ! އާނއެކެވެ! ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ނިކަމެތިވެގެންވާ حال ގައެވެ.

o listener, do not set up another god with allah, for you will then remain seated condemned, helpless.
اللَّه އާއެކު އެހެން إله އަކު ނުލާށެވެ! ފަހެ، އޭރުން މަލާމާތްލިބި، ނިކަމެތިވެގެންވާ حال، ތިބާ އިންނަންޖެހިދާނެތެވެ.

but those who are helpless, men, women and children, who can neither contrive a plan nor do they know the way,
(هجرة ކުރާނެ) ގޮތެއްގެ ކުޅަދާނަކަން ލިބިގެންނުވާ، އަދި، (هجرة ޔަށް) ދާނެމަގެއް ފެނިފައިނުވާ ނިކަމެތި ފިރިހެނުންނާއި، އަންހެނުންނާއި، ކުޑަކުދިން މެނުވީއެވެ.

if they were to be attacked they would not help them. even if they were to help them, they would run away from the battle and leave them helpless.
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އެއުރެން ނެރެލައިފިނަމަ، އެއުރެންނާއެކު އެއުރެންނެއް ނުނިކުންނާނެތެވެ. އަދި ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އެއުރެންނާ ހަނގުރާމަކޮށްފިނަމަ، އެއުރެންނަކަށް އެއުރެން نصر އެއްވެސް ނުދޭނެތެވެ. އަދި ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އެއުރެންނަށް نصر ދިނުމަށް ނުކުތަސް، އެއުރެން ފުރަގަސްދީ ފިލަންދުވާނެކަން ކަށަވަރެވެ. ދެން އެއުރެންނަކަށް (އެއްވެސް ފަރާތަކުން) نصر އެއް ނުލިބޭނެތެވެ.

for god had helped you during the battle of badr at a time when you were helpless. so act in compliance with the laws of god; you may well be grateful.
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ނިކަމެތީން ކަމުގައިވަނިކޮށް، بدر ހަނގުރާމައިގައި اللَّه، ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް نصر ދެއްވިއެވެ. ފަހެ، ތިޔަބައިމީހުން اللَّه އަށް تقوى ވެރިވާށެވެ! (އެއީ) ތިޔަބައިމީހުން شكر ވެރި ވުމަށްޓަކައެވެ.

when our messengers came to lot, he became sorrowful and felt totally helpless. he said, "this is indeed a distressful day".
އަދި ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ رسول ން (އެބަހީ: ملائكة ން) لوط ގެފާނުގެ އަރިހަށް ވަޑައިގަތްހިނދު (قوم ގެމީހުންގެ فاسد ކަމުގެ ސަބަބުން، އެބޭކަލުންނަށް ދެރަގޮތެއް ވެދާނެތީ) އެބޭކަލުންނާމެދު ދެރަފުޅުވެ ހިތާމަކުރެއްވިއެވެ. އަދި އެބޭކަލުންނާމެދު ހިތްޕުޅު ދަތިވިއެވެ. އަދި ވިދާޅުވިއެވެ. މިއީ ވަރަށް ހިތާމަވެރި ދުވަހެކެވެ.

(muhammad), how many towns, much more powerful than the one from which you have been expelled, have we destroyed and left helpless?
ކަލޭގެފާނު އެ ރަށަކުން ބޭރުކޮށް ނެރެލި، ކަލޭގެފާނުގެ ރަށަށްވުރެ ބާރުގަދަ ކިތައްކިތައް ރަށުގެ أهل ވެރިން، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެއުރެން ހަލާކުކުރައްވައި ނެތިކުރެއްވިންހެއްޔެވެ! ފަހެ، އެއުރެންނަށް نصر ދޭނޭ އެއްވެސް މީހަކު ނުވެއެވެ.

and worship instead of allah, those helpless beings who have no control over providing them any sustenance from the heavens and the earth; do you worship those who have no power to do anything of this sort?
اللَّه ފިޔަވައި، އެހެންފަރާތަކަށް، އެއުރެން އަޅުކަންކުރެތެވެ. (އެއީ) އުޑުތަކާއި، ބިމުން، އެއްވެސް އެއްޗަކުން އެއުރެންނަށް رزق ދިނުން މިލްކުވެގެން ނުވާ ތަކެއްޗެވެ. އަދި އެ ތަކެއްޗަށް، އެކަމަކަށް ކުޅަދާނަވެގެނެއް ނުމެވޭމެއެވެ.

and let them fear, those who, if they would themselves leave behind helpless offspring, they would surely have been fearful on their account. let them, then, fear allah and make the right statement.
ނިކަމެތި ދަރިންކޮޅެއް އެއުރެންގެ ފަހަތަށް ދޫކުޅަނަމަ، އެކުދިންގެ މައްޗަށް ބިރުވެތިވާ ފަދައިން، އެއުރެން (اللَّه އަށް) ބިރުވެތި ވާހުށިކަމެވެ! އަދި، އެއުރެން اللَّه އަށް تقوى ވެރިވާހުށިކަމެވެ! އަދި، إنصاف ވެރި ސީދާ ބުނުމެއް އެއުރެން ބުނާހުށިކަމެވެ!

and how should you not fight for the cause of god, and for the helpless old men, women, and children who say, "deliver us, lord, from this city of wrongdoers, grant us a protector out of your grace and grant us a supporter out of your grace?"
އަދި، اللَّه ގެ މަގުގައްޔާއި، އަދި ފިރިހެނުންނާއި، އަންހެނުންނާއި، ކުޑަކުދިންގެ ތެރެއިން، ނިކަމެތި ވެގެންވާ މީހުން ސަލާމަތްކުރުމުގެ މަގުގައި، ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ހަނގުރާމަ ނުކުރާންވީ ކީއްވެގެން ހެއްޔެވެ؟ އެއުރެންނަކީ، (މިފަދައިން) دعاء ކުރާ މީހުންނެވެ. އަޅަމެންގެ ވެރިރަސްކަލާކޮ! އެރަށުގެ أهل ވެރިން އަނިޔާވެރިވެގެންވާ މި ރަށުން އަޅަމެން ނެރުއްވައިފާނދޭވެ! އަދި، އިބަރަސްކަލާނގެ حضرة ން ވާގިވެރިޔަކު އަޅަމެންނަށް ލައްވައިފާނދޭވެ! އަދި، އިބަރަސްކަލާނގެ حضرة ން نصر ވެރިޔަކު އަޅަމެންނަށް ލައްވައިފާނދޭވެ!
