lo! we it is who quicken and give death, and unto us is the journeying.
بیشک ہم جِلائیں اور ہم ماریں اور ہماری طرف پھرنا ہے

and unto allah belongeth the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and unto allah is the journeying.
آسمانوں اور زمین کی بادشاہی اللہ ہی کے لیے ہے اور اسی کی طرف سب کو پلٹنا ہے

he created the heavens and the earth with truth, and he shaped you and made good your shapes, and unto him is the journeying.
اس نے آسمان اور زمین حق کے ساتھ بنائے اور تمہاری تصویر کی تو تمہاری اچھی صورت بنائی اور اسی کی طرف پھرنا ہے

forgiver of sin, and acceptor of repentance severe in chastisement, lord of power. there is no god but he; unto him is the journeying.
جو گناہ بخشنے والا اور توبہ قبول کرنے والا ہے اور سخت عذاب دینے والا اور صاحب کرم ہے۔ اس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں۔ اسی کی طرف پھر کر جانا ہے

and when you are journeying in the land there is no fault in you that you shorten the prayer, if you fear the unbelievers may afflict you; the unbelievers are for you a manifest foe.
اور جب تم زمین میں سفر کرو تو تم پر کوئی گناہ نہیں کہ تم نماز میں قصر کرو (یعنی چار رکعت فرض کی جگہ دو پڑھو) اگر تمہیں اندیشہ ہے کہ کافر تمہیں تکلیف میں مبتلا کر دیں گے۔ بیشک کفار تمہارے کھلے دشمن ہیں،

and when you are journeying in the land, there is no fault in you that you shorten the prayer if you fear that those who disbelieve will afflict you. indeed, the unbelievers are a clear enemy for you.
اور جب تم سفر کو جاؤ تو تم پر کچھ گناہ نہیں کہ نماز کو کم کرکے پڑھو بشرطیکہ تم کو خوف ہو کہ کافر لوگ تم کو ایذا دیں گے بےشک کافر تمہارے کھلے دشمن ہیں

say: 'go about journeying the earth, and behold the end of those who gave the lie (to the truth).'
آپ ان سے کہہ دیجئے کہ زمین میں سیر کریں پھر اس کے بعد دیکھیں کہ جھٹلانے والوں کا انجام کیا ہوتا ہے

we have committed man about his parents. his mother carries him in her womb in weakness and debility, weaning him in two years. so he should be grateful to me and his parents. to me is the journeying back.
اور حقیقت یہ ہے کہ ہم نے انسان کو اپنے والدین کا حق پہچاننے کی خود تاکید کی ہے اُس کی ماں نے ضعف پر ضعف اُٹھا کر اسے اپنے پیٹ میں رکھا اور دو سال اُس کا دودھ چھوٹنے میں لگے (اِسی لیے ہم نے اُس کو نصیحت کی کہ) میرا شکر کر اور اپنے والدین کا شکر بجا لا، میری ہی طرف تجھے پلٹنا ہے

and we have enjoined upon man concerning his partners - his mother beareth him in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years - give thanks unto me and unto thy parents. unto me is the journeying.
اور حقیقت یہ ہے کہ ہم نے انسان کو اپنے والدین کا حق پہچاننے کی خود تاکید کی ہے اُس کی ماں نے ضعف پر ضعف اُٹھا کر اسے اپنے پیٹ میں رکھا اور دو سال اُس کا دودھ چھوٹنے میں لگے (اِسی لیے ہم نے اُس کو نصیحت کی کہ) میرا شکر کر اور اپنے والدین کا شکر بجا لا، میری ہی طرف تجھے پلٹنا ہے

when moses said to his lad, ‘i will go on [journeying] until i have reached the confluence of the two seas, or have spent a long time [travelling].’
(ذرا اِن کو وہ قصہ سناؤ جو موسیٰؑ کو پیش آیا تھا) جبکہ موسیٰؑ نے اپنے خادم سے کہا تھا کہ "میں اپنا سفر ختم نہ کروں گا جب تک کہ دونوں دریاؤں کے سنگم پر نہ پہنچ جاؤں، ورنہ میں ایک زمانہ دراز تک چلتا ہی رہوں گا"
