whereas underage drinking in residential areas posses significant health and environmental risk, including addiction, as the brain adapts to the presence of alcohol. alcohol can interfere with the development of the brain, particularly the areas term cognitive and behavioral problems. drinking too much alcohol can lead to alcohol poisoning, which can be fatal. minor drinking, or underage drinking, refers to the consumption of alcohol by individuals who are under the legal age limit for drinking in their jurisdiction. this can have significant negative effects on teenagers, both short-term and long-term. in order to protect the well being and safety of the underage in our community from alcohol , it is vital that we implement this an ordinance prohibiting the underage drinking in residential areas. this ordinance benefits our community because it reduces the risk of alcohol-related criminal activities, such as underage drinking and driving, public intoxication, and vandalism, and it also promotes responsible decision-making and risk-taking among young people, as they learn to make responsible choices about alcohol consumption and lastly, it helps to protect young people from peer pressure to drink and encourages them to make more informed decisions about alcohol consumption.
