there they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin.

wherefore let thou them alone plunging in vanity and sporting until they meet their day which they are promised.

that he might cause the truth to triumph and bring vanity to naught, however much the guilty might oppose;
เพื่อพระองค์จะทรงให้สิ่งที่เป็นจริง ได้ประจักษ์เป็นความจริง และให้สิ่งเท็จ ได้ประจักษ์เป็นสิ่งเท็จ และแม้ว่าบรรดาผู้กระทำความผิด ไม่พอใจก็ตาม”

people of the book! why do you confound the truth with vanity, and conceal the truth and that wittingly?
โอ้บรรดาผู้ได้รับคัมภีร์ทั้งหลาย ! เพราะเหตุใดพวกเจ้าจึงสวมความจริงไว้ด้วยความเท็จ และปกปิดความจริงไว้ ทั้งๆ ที่พวกเจ้าก็รู้ดีอยู่

that is because god is the reality, and what they invoke besides him is vanity, and because god is the sublime, the grand.
เช่นนั้นแหละ เพราะว่าอัลลอฮ์ คือผู้ทรงสัจจะ และแท้จริงสิ่งที่พวกเขาวิงวอนขออื่นจากพระองค์เป็นผู้ทรงสูงส่ง ผู้ทรงยิ่งใหญ่

for all his days are sorrows, and his travail grief; yea, his heart taketh not rest in the night. this is also vanity.
ด้วยว่าวันเวลาทั้งหมดของเขามีแต่ความเจ็บปวด และกิจธุระของเขาก่อความสลดใจ ถึงกลางคืนจิตใจของเขาก็ไม่หยุดพักสงบ นี่ก็อนิจจังด้ว

behold, is it not of the lord of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?
ดูเถิด ที่บรรดาชนชาติทำงานก็เพื่อแก่ไฟ และที่ชนชาติทั้งหลายทำจนเหน็ดเหนื่อยก็เพื่อแก่การไร้สาระ มิได้เป็นเช่นนี้เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาดอกหรื

and when they hear vanity they withdraw from it and say: unto us our works and unto you your works. peace be unto you! we desire not the ignorant.
และเมื่อพวกเขาได้ยินเรื่องไร้สาระ พวกเขาก็ผินหลังออกห้างไปจากมัน และกล่าวว่า “การงานของเราก็จะได้แก่เรา และการงานของพวกท่านก็จะได้แก่พวกท่าน ศานติแด่พวกท่าน เราจะไม่ขอร่วมกับพวกงมงาย”

and devour not your riches among yourselves in vanity, nor convey them unto the judges that ye may devour thereby a portion of other people's riches sinfully while ye know.
และพวกเจ้าจงอย่ากินทรัพย์ สมบัติของพวกเจ้า ระหว่างพวกเจ้าโดยมิชอบ และจงอย่าจ่ายมัน ให้แก่ผู้พิพากษา เพื่อที่พวกเจ้าจะได้กินส่วนหนึ่งจากทรัพย์สินสมบัติของผู้อื่น ด้วยการกระทำสิ่งที่เป็นบาป ทั้งๆ ที่พวกเจ้ารู้กันอยู่
