indeed, we have heard a book, which has been sent down after moses, confirming what was before it. it guides to the truth and to a straight path.

na tukawafuatishia hao isa bin maryamu kuyahakikisha yaliyo kuwa kabla yake katika taurati, na tukampa injili iliyomo ndani yake uwongofu, na nuru na inayo sadikisha yaliyo kuwa kabla yake katika taurati, na uwongofu na mawaidha kwa wachamngu.
and in their footsteps we caused 'isa, son of maryam, to follow, confessing to that which had preceded him, the taurat, and we vouchsafed unto him the injil wherein was a guidance and a light, confirming that which had preceded it, the taurat, and a guidance and an admonition unto the god-fearing.

na tumekuteremshia wewe, kwa haki, kitabu hichi kinacho sadikisha yaliyo kuwa kabla yake katika vitabu na kuyalinda. basi hukumu baina yao kwa aliyo yateremsha mwenyezi mungu, wala usifuate matamanio yao ukaacha haki iliyo kujia.
and o dear prophet (mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) we have sent down the true book upon you, confirming the books preceding it, and a protector and witness over them – therefore judge between them according to what is sent down by allah, and o listener, do not follow their desires, abandoning the truth which has come to you; we have appointed for you all, a separate (religious) law and a way; and had allah willed he could have made you one nation, but the purpose (his will) is to test you by what he has given you, therefore seek to surpass one another in good deeds; towards allah only you will all return, so he will inform you concerning the matter in which you disputed.

bali wema ni wa anaye muamini mwenyezi mungu na siku ya mwisho na malaika na kitabu na manabii, na anawapa mali, kwa kupenda kwake, jamaa na mayatima na masikini na wasafiri, na waombao, na katika ugombozi, na akawa anashika sala, na akatoa zaka, na wanao timiza ahadi yao wanapo ahidi, na wanao vumilia katika shida na dhara na wakati wa vita; hao ndio walio sadikisha, na hao ndio wajilindao.
but righteousness is to believe in allah and the last day, in the angels and the book, and the prophets, and to give wealth however cherished, to kinsmen, to the orphans, to the needy, to the destitute traveler, and to the beggars, and to ransom the slave; who establish their prayers and pay the obligatory charity; who are true to their promise when they have promised. who are patient in misfortune and hardship and during the time of courage.
