has the moment not yet come when the hearts of believers should be moved by the thought of god and the truth that has been sent down , so that they should not be like those who received the book before them but whose hearts were hardened after a lapse of time , and many of them turned disobedient ?
ለነዚያ ለአመኑት ለአላህ ተግሳጽና ከቁርኣንም ለወረደው ልቦቻቸው ሊፈሩ እንደእነዚያም በፊት መጽሐፍን እንደ ተሰጡትና በእነርሱ ላይ ጊዜ እንደረዘመባቸው ልቦቻቸውም እንደ ደረቁት ላይኾኑ ( ጊዜው ) አልቀረበምን ? ከእነርሱም ብዙዎቹ አመጸኞች ናቸው ፡ ፡

and we have made the night and day two signs , and we erased the sign of the night and made the sign of the day visible that you may seek bounty from your lord and may know the number of years and the account [ of time ] . and everything we have set out in detail .
ሌሊትንና ቀንንም ( ለችሎታችን ) ምልክቶች አደረግን ፡ ፡ የሌሊትን ምልክትም አበስን ፡ ፡ የቀንን ምልክትም የምታሳይ አደረግን ፡ ፡ ( ይህም የኾነበት ) ከጌታችሁ ትርፍን ልትፈልጉ የዓመታትንም ቁጥርና ሒሳብንም ታውቁ ዘንድ ነው ፡ ፡ ነገሩንም ሁሉ ለያይተን ዘረዘርነው ፡ ፡

and they said , “ there is nothing except our life of this world – we die and we live – and nothing destroys us except the passage of time ” ; and they do not have any knowledge of it ; they only make guesses .
እርሷም ( ሕይወት ) የቅርቢቱ ሕይወታችን እንጅ ሌላ አይደለችም ፡ ፡ « እንሞታለን ፤ ሕያውም እንኾናለን ፡ ፡ ከጊዜም ( ማለፍ ) በስተቀር ሌላ አያጠፋንም » አሉ ፡ ፡ ለእነርሱም በዚህ ( በሚሉት ) ምንም ዕውቀት የላቸውም ፡ ፡ እነርሱ የሚጠራጠሩ እንጅ ሌላ አይደሉም ፡ ፡
