(நபியே!) நீர் துன்பப்படுவதற்காக நாம் இந்த குர்ஆனை உம்மீது இறக்கவில்லை.

and likewise to cherish my mother; he has not made me arrogant, unprosperous.
"என் தாயாருக்கு நன்றி செய்பவனாக (என்னை ஏவியிருக்கின்றான்;) நற்பேறு கெட்ட பெருமைக்காரனாக என்னை அவன் ஆக்கவில்லை.

(he has made me) kind to my mother; he has not made me arrogant, unprosperous.
"என் தாயாருக்கு நன்றி செய்பவனாக (என்னை ஏவியிருக்கின்றான்;) நற்பேறு கெட்ட பெருமைக்காரனாக என்னை அவன் ஆக்கவில்லை.

then we said, 'adam, surely this is an enemy to thee and thy wife. so let him not expel you both from the garden, so that thou art unprosperous.
அப்பொழுது "ஆதமே! நிச்சயமாக இவன் உமக்கும், உம்முடைய மனைவிக்கும் பகைவனாவான்; ஆதலால், உங்களிருவரையும் இச்சுவனபதியிலிருந்து திட்டமாக வெளியேற்ற (இடந்) தரவேண்டாம்; இன்றேல் நீர் பெரும் இன்னலுக்குள்ளாவீர்.

now i will go apart from you and that you call upon, apart from god; i will call upon my lord, and haply i shall not be, in calling upon my lord, unprosperous.
நான் உங்களை விட்டும், அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி நீங்கள் பிரார்த்திப்பவற்றை விட்டும் விலகிக் கொள்கிறேன்; மேலும் நான் என் இறைவனை பிரார்த்தித்துக் கொண்டே இருப்பேன்; என் இறைவனைப் பிரார்த்திப்பது கொண்டு நான் நிர்ப்பாக்கியவானாகாமல் இருக்கப் போதும்" (என்றார்).

saying, 'o my lord, behold the bones within me are feeble and my head is all aflame with hoariness. and in calling on thee, my lord, i have never been hitherto unprosperous.
(அவர்) கூறினார்; "என் இறைவனே! நிச்சயமாக என் எலும்புகள் பலஹீனமடைந்து விட்டன என் தலையும் நரையால் (வெண்மையாய்) இலங்குகிறது. என் இறைவனே! (இதுவரையில்) நான் உன்னிடம் செய்த பிரார்த்தனையில் பாக்கியம் இல்லாதவனாகப் போய்விடவில்லை.

'both of you, together, go down out of it (the garden) each of you an enemy to the other' he said: 'but, if my guidance comes to you, whosoever followsmy guidance shall neither go astray nor be unprosperous;
"இதிலிருந்து நீங்கள் இருவரும் சேகரமாக இங்கிருந்து வெளியேறி விடுங்கள். உங்க(ள் சந்ததிக)ளில் சிலருக்குச் சிலர் பகைவர்களாகவேயிருப்பார்கள்; அப்பொழுது நிச்சயமாக என்னிடமிருந்து உங்களுக்கு நேர்வழி வரும்; எவர் என்னுடைய நேர்வழியைப் பின் பற்றி நடக்கிறாரோ அவர் வழி தவறவும் மாட்டார், நற்பேறிழக்கவும் மாட்டார்.
