invoca la salvezza dal maestro, il quale non tarda il suo intervento: "e subito gesù stese la mano, lo afferrò e gli disse: uomo di poca fede, perchè hai dubitato?".
he invokes salvation from the master, who does not delay his intervention: "immediately jesus stretched out his hand and caught him, and said to him: o you of little faith, why did you doubt?".

dinanzi al pericolo, esplode tutta la sua fede: "signore, salvami!". gesù lo afferra, lo salva, ma gli dice anche: "uomo di poca fede, perchè hai dubitato?".
confronted with danger, all his faith bursts out: "save me, lord!" jesus grabs hold of him, but also tells him: "how little faith you have; why did you doubt?" doubt is the wood-worm of faith because it makes it inactive, uncertain, fragile, vain, useless.

per questo motivo gesù dice ai suoi discepoli che sono gente di poca fede.
for this reason jesus tells his disciples that are of little faith.

il maestro però mi ha insegnato che è il dubbio che ti fa sprofondare, e quelle sue parole, mentre aggrappato alla sua mano cercavo di non affondare: "uomo di poca fede, perché hai dubitato?" sono scolpite nella mia mente.
the master, however, taught me that it is doubt that causes you to sink.

"perché avete paura, o gente di poca fede?" (matteo 8:26).

È facile la “non fede”. questo sì, è facilissima la “non fede”. «uomini di poca fede, perché dubitate?».
‘non-faith’ is easy. yes, this ‘non-faith’ is easy. “men of little faith, why do you doubt?”.
