anzitutto, il camelus bactrianus possiede sulla sommità delle due gobbe, due grandi gibbosità adipose, mentre il camelus dromedarius ne ha una sola; poi è più robusto e tarchiato, mentre il dromederario è più slanciato; e infine il suo pelo è più robusto, anche nella sua morfologia intima, fitto e lungo sul collo, dorsalmente e ventralmente, mentre il dromedario ha un manto più raso ed una leggera lanuria sul collo, più adatti ad ambienti sempre caldissimi come il deserto del sahara.
