kirsty williams : given your response to that question , do you think that it would be appropriate to have some mechanism whereby the food standards agency informed you , as the minister for health and social services in wales , or your office , directly , as a matter of course of such concerns ? are you concerned that the food standards regime in britain did not pick up on the fact that this contaminated food stuff had been imported and that we had to rely on a report from the italian authorities to identify this problem and to alert us to it ? if the food standards agency is not there to protect the public and to inform us directly of such concerns , what is it there for ?
kirsty williams : yng ngolwg eich ymateb i'r cwestiwn hwnnw , a gredwch mai priodol fyddai cael rhyw fath o drefniant fel y gallai'r asiantaeth safonau bwyd eich hysbysu chi , fel y gweinidog dros iechyd a gwasanaethau cymdeithasol yng nghymru , neu'ch swyddfa , yn uniongyrchol , fel mater o drefn , am bryderon o'r fath ? a ydych yn bryderus am nad oedd y gyfundrefn safonau bwyd ym mhrydain wedi cael gwybod bod y bwyd halogedig hwn wedi'i fewnforio a'n bod wedi gorfod dibynnu ar adroddiad gan yr awdurdodau yn yr eidal i ganfod y broblem hon a thynnu'n sylw ati ? os nad diben yr asiantaeth safonau bwyd yw amddiffyn y cyhoedd a rhoi gwybod i ni'n syth am bryderon o'r fath , beth yw ei phwrpas ?
