if only those who deny the truth knew the time when they would not be able to ward off the fire neither from their faces nor from their backs . they will not be helped !
और जो लोग काफ़िर हो बैठे काश उस वक्त क़ी हालत से आगाह होते और न अपने चेहरों से आग को हटा सकेंगे और न अपनी पीठ से और न उनकी मदद की जाएगी

and they say : wherefore hath not an angel been sent down unto him ? were we to send down an angel , the affair would have been decreed and they would not be respited .
उनका तो कहना है , " इस पर कोई फ़रिश्ता क्यों नहीं उतारा गया ? " हालाँकि यदि हम फ़रिश्ता उतारते तो फ़ैसला हो चुका होता । फिर उन्हें कोई मुहल्लत न मिलती

but still they would not be of themselves perfectly useful or reliable indices unless their obscurity were enlightened by an interpretation and guidance which the ordinary intelligence cannot give , but a higher intuition could provide .
किन्तु फिर भी ये अपने - आपसे पूर्णतया उपयोगी या विश्वसनीय संकेत नहीं होंगी जब तक कि इनकी अस्पष्टता एक ऐसे अर्थ - विवरण एवं मार्गदर्शन द्वारा आलोकित न हो जिसे साधारण बुद्धि नहीं प्रदान कर सकती , पर उच्चतर अन्तर्ज्ञान प्रदान कर सकता है ।

if they are expelled or fought against , they will not go with them , nor will they will help them . indeed , if they helped them , they would turn their backs andthen they would not be helped .
अगर कुफ्फ़ार निकाले भी जाएँ तो ये मुनाफेक़ीन उनके साथ न निकलेंगे और अगर उनसे लड़ाई हुई तो उनकी मदद भी न करेंगे और यक़ीनन करेंगे भी तो पीठ फेर कर भाग जाएँगे

if the hypocrites and perverts , and the rumour - mongers of madinah , do not desist even now , we shall rouse you against them , so they would not be able to live but a short time in the city with you .
ऐ रसूल मुनाफेक़ीन और वह लोग जिनके दिलों में मर्ज़ है और जो लोग मदीने में बुरी ख़बरें उड़ाया करते हैं - अगर ये लोग बाज़ न आएंगें तो हम तुम ही को उन पर मुसल्लत कर देगें फिर वह तुम्हारे पड़ोस में चन्द रोज़ों के सिवा ठहरने न पाएँगे

if those are expelled , they will not go forth with them , and if they are fought against , they will not help them . even if they helped them , they would surely turn their backs , then they would not be helped .
अगर कुफ्फ़ार निकाले भी जाएँ तो ये मुनाफेक़ीन उनके साथ न निकलेंगे और अगर उनसे लड़ाई हुई तो उनकी मदद भी न करेंगे और यक़ीनन करेंगे भी तो पीठ फेर कर भाग जाएँगे
