rather you are surprised, whereas they keep mocking.

sema: mlikuwa mkimfanyia maskhara mwenyezi mungu na ishara zake na mtume wake?

say: go on mocking, surely allah will bring forth what you fear.
hakika mwenyezi mungu atayatoa nje hayo mnayo yaogopa.

likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,
hali kadhalika na makuhani wakuu pamoja na walimu wa sheria na wazee walimdhihaki wakisema,

say, "is it allah and his verses and his messenger that you were mocking?"
sema: mlikuwa mkimfanyia maskhara mwenyezi mungu na ishara zake na mtume wake?

for their disbelief and their mocking our revelations and messengerss, their recompense will be hell.
hiyo jahannamu ni malipo yao kwa walivyo kufuru na wakafanyia kejeli ishara zangu na mitume wangu.

but you took them for laughingstock, mocking at them, until they caused you to forget my remembrance.
lakini nyinyi mliwakejeli hata wakakusahaulisheni kunikumbuka, na mlikuwa mkiwacheka.

they belied the truth when it came to them, but there shall come to them news of that they were mocking.
wameikanusha haki ilipo wajia. basi zitawajia khabari za yale waliyo kuwa wakiyakejeli.

and assuredly mocked were the apostles before thee, wherefore that whereat they scoffed beset these who had been mocking.
na hakika mitume walio kabla yako walifanyiwa kejeli, lakini walio wafanyia kejeli wakaja kuzungukwa na yale yale waliyo kuwa wao wanayafanyia kejeli.

nawasikitikia waja wangu. hawajii mtume ila wao humkejeli.

na mitume walio kabla yako walikwisha dhihakiwa. kwa hivyo wale walio wafanyia maskhara yaliwafika yale waliyo kuwa wakiyafanyia dhihaka.

but when they are alone with their devils, they say to them: 'we follow none but you, we were only mocking
na wanapo kuwa peke yao na mashet'ani wao husema: hakika sisi tu pamoja nanyi. hakika sisi tunawadhihaki tu.

and when their apostles came unto them with evidences, they exulted in the knowledge which was with them, and there surrounded them that which they had been mocking.
walipo wajia mitume wao kwa dalili zilizo wazi walijitapa kwa ilimu waliyo kuwa nayo. basi yakawazunguka waliyo kuwa wakiyafanyia maskhara.

but when they are alone with their evil leaders, they say, "we are really with you; we were only mocking."
na wanapo kuwa peke yao na mashet'ani wao husema: hakika sisi tu pamoja nanyi. hakika sisi tunawadhihaki tu.

they have refused the truth (muhammad's message) that has come to them but they will soon learn the consequences of their mocking.
