such is the interpretation of that wherewith thou couldst not bear.
Раҳмати Парвардигорат буд. Ин аст сирри он сухан, ки гуфтам: «Туро сабри он нест».

if thou couldst see when they are set before their lord!
Ва агар бубинӣ он ҳангомро, ки дар баробари Парвардигорашон истодаанд.

if thou couldst but see when they are confronted with their lord!
Ва агар бубинӣ он ҳангомро, ки дар баробари Парвардигорашон истодаанд.

he said: did i not tell thee that thou couldst not bear with me?
Гуфт: «Нагуфтам, ки туро сабри ҳамроҳӣ бо ман нест?»

and couldst thou see what time they shall be held before their lord?
Ва агар бубинӣ он ҳангомро, ки дар баробари Парвардигорашон истодаанд.

said he, 'did i not say that thou couldst never bear with me patiently?'
Гуфт: «Нагуфтам, ки туро сабри ҳамроҳӣ бо ман нест?»

ah, if thou couldst see the guilty hanging their heads before their lord!
Туро ибрат аст, он гоҳ ки гунаҳкоронро дар назди Парвардигорашон сарафканда бинӣ.

he said, 'if thou hadst wished, thou couldst have taken a wage for that.'
Деворро рост кард. Мӯсо гуфт: «Кош дар баробари ин кор музде мехостӣ».

(moses) said: if thou hadst wished, thou couldst have taken payment for it.
Деворро рост кард. Мӯсо гуфт: «Кош дар баробари ин кор музде мехостӣ».

ah, if thou couldst see when the evildoers are stationed before their lord, bandying argument the one against the other!
Агар бубинӣ он рӯз, ки ситамкоронро ба пешгоҳи Парвардигорашон нигоҳ доранд, ҳар кас гуноҳи худ ба гардани дигаре андозад.

if thou hadst spent all that is in the earth thou couldst not have attuned their hearts, but allah hath attuned them. lo!
Агар ту ҳамаи он чиро, ки дар рӯи замин аст, харҷ мекарди, дилҳои онҳоро ба якдигар меҳрубон намесохтӣ, Вале Худо дилҳояшонро ба якдигар меҳрубон сохт, ки Ӯ пирузманду ҳаким аст!

and couldst thou behold when the angels take away the life of those who disbelive striking their faces and their backs: taste the torment of burning.
Агар бубинӣ он замонро, ки фариштагон ҷони кофиронро меситонанд ва ба рӯйҳову пушташон мезананд ва мегӯянд: «Азоби сӯзонро бичашед!»

(moses) said: "if thou hadst wished, surely thou couldst have exacted some recompense for it!"
Деворро рост кард. Мӯсо гуфт: «Кош дар баробари ин кор музде мехостӣ».

if only they had patience until thou couldst come out to them, it would be best for them: but allah is oft-forgiving, most merciful.
Агар сабр, мекарданд, то ту худ берун меомадӣ ва назди онҳо мерафтӣ, барояшон беҳтар мебуд ва Худо бахшояндаи меҳрубон аст!

and couldst thou see what time they shall be held over the fire, and then they will say: would that we were sent back and now we shall not belie the signs of our lord and we shall be of the believers.
Агар онҳоро дар он рӯз, ки баробари оташ нигоҳашон доштаанд, бингарӣ, мегӯянд: «Эй кош, моро бозгардонанд, то оёти Парвардигорамонро дурӯғ нагӯем ва аз мӯъминон бошем!»

couldst thou but see when the wrong-doers will be made to stand before their lord, throwing back the word (of blame) on one another!
Агар бубинӣ он рӯз, ки ситамкоронро ба пешгоҳи Парвардигорашон нигоҳ доранд, ҳар кас гуноҳи худ ба гардани дигаре андозад.

and (moreover) he hath put affection between their hearts: not if thou hadst spent all that is in the earth, couldst thou have produced that affection, but allah hath done it: for he is exalted in might, wise.
Дилҳояшонро ба якдигар меҳрубон сохт. Агар ту ҳамаи он чиро, ки дар рӯи замин аст, харҷ мекарди, дилҳои онҳоро ба якдигар меҳрубон намесохтӣ, Вале Худо дилҳояшонро ба якдигар меҳрубон сохт, ки Ӯ пирузманду ҳаким аст!
