but what is the matter with the unbelievers, that they strain their glances continuously towards them,
நிராகரிப்பவர்களுக்கு என்ன? (கழுத்துகளை நீட்டியவாறு அவர்கள்) உங்கள் முன் ஓடிவருகின்றனர்.

no part of the matter is yours whether he turns towards them or punishes them. they are harmdoers.
(நபியே!) உமக்கு இவ்விஷயத்தில் ஒரு சம்பந்தமும் இல்லை. அவன் அவர்களை மன்னித்து விடலாம்;. அல்லது அவர்களை வேதனைப்படுத்தலாம் - நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் கொடியோராக இருப்பதின் காரணமாக.

we indeed sent towards them a severe windstorm, on a day the ill luck of which lasted upon them forever.
நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்கள் மீது, நிலையான துர்பாக்கியமுடைய ஒரு நாளில், பேரிறைச்சலைக் கொண்ட வேகமான காற்றை அனுப்பினோம்.

you have no say in this affair to decide whether he will relent towards them or he will punish them: they are wrongdoers.
(நபியே!) உமக்கு இவ்விஷயத்தில் ஒரு சம்பந்தமும் இல்லை. அவன் அவர்களை மன்னித்து விடலாம்;. அல்லது அவர்களை வேதனைப்படுத்தலாம் - நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் கொடியோராக இருப்பதின் காரணமாக.

no part of the matter is thine, whether he turns towards them again, or chastises them; for they are evildoers.
(நபியே!) உமக்கு இவ்விஷயத்தில் ஒரு சம்பந்தமும் இல்லை. அவன் அவர்களை மன்னித்து விடலாம்;. அல்லது அவர்களை வேதனைப்படுத்தலாம் - நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் கொடியோராக இருப்பதின் காரணமாக.

be humble and merciful towards them and say, "lord, have mercy upon them as they cherished me in my childhood."
இன்னும், இரக்கம் கொண்டு பணிவு என்னும் இறக்கையை அவ்விருவருக்காகவும் நீர் தாழ்த்துவீராக மேலும், "என் இறைவனே! நான் சிறு பிள்ளையாக இருந்த போது, என்னை(ப்பரிவோடு) அவ்விருவரும் வளர்த்தது போல், நீயும் அவர்களிருவருக்கும் கிருபை செய்வாயாக!" என்று கூறிப் பிரார்த்திப்பீராக!

and if you apprehend treachery from a nation, then throw back their treaty towards them in reciprocity; indeed allah does not like the treacherous.
(உம்முடன் உடன்படிக்கை செய்திருக்கும்) எந்தக் கூட்டத்தாரும் மோசம் செய்வார்கள் என நீர் பயந்தால். (அதற்குச்) சமமாகவே (அவ்வுடன்படிக்கையை) அவர்களிடம் எறிந்துவிடும்; நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் மோசம் செய்பவர்களை நேசிப்பதில்லை.

well nigh he had led us astray from our gods if we had not persevered towards them. presently they shall know, when they behold the torment, who, more astray in respect of path.
"நாம் (நம் தெய்வங்களின் மீது) உறுதியாக இல்லாதிருந்தால், நம்முடைய தெய்வங்களை விட்டும் திருப்பி நம்மை இவர் வழி கெடுத்தேயிருப்பார்" (என்றும் அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர் (மறுமையின்) வேதனையை அவர்கள் காணும்பொழுது, பாதையால் மிக வழிகெட்டவர்கள் யார் என்பதை நன்கறிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

god only forbids you to make friends with those who have fought against you on account of your faith and driven you out of your homes or helped others to do so. any of you who turn towards them in friendship will truly be transgressors.
நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் உங்களை விலக்குவதெல்லாம் மார்க்க விஷயத்தில் உங்களிடம் போர் செய்து உங்களை உங்கள் இல்லங்களை விட்டும் வெளியேற்றி, நீங்கள் வெளியேற்றப்படுவதற்கு உதவியும் செய்தார்களே, அத்தகையவர்களை நீங்கள் நேசர்களாக ஆக்கிக் கொள்வதைத் தான் - எனவே, எவர்கள் அவர்களை நேசர்களாக்கிக் கொள்கிறார்களோ அவர்கள்தாம் அநியாயம் செய்பவர்கள்.

and had we not fortified you, certainly you might have inclined toward them a bit.

(allah accepts) the repentance from only those who commit evil in ignorance and then quickly turn to him in repentance. allah will relent towards them. allah is knowing, wise.
எவர்கள் அறியாமையினால் தீமை செய்துவிட்டு, பின்னர் விரைவில் மன்னிப்புத் தேடி கொள்கிறார்களோ அவர்களுக்குத்தான் அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் மன்னிப்பு. உண்டு. அல்லாஹ் அவர்களின் மன்னிப்பை ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறான். இன்னும் அல்லாஹ் நன்கறிந்தோனும். ஞானம் உடையோனுமாக இருக்கின்றான்.

and had we sent down the angels towards them, and had the dead spoken to them, and had we raised all things in front of them, they would still not have believed unless allah willed – but most of them are totally ignorant.
நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களிடம் மலக்குகளை இறக்கிவைத்தாலும், இறந்தவர்களை அவர்களிடம் பேசும்படிச் செய்தாலும், இன்னும் எல்லாப் பொருட்களையும் அவர்களிடம் நேருக்குநேர் கொண்டுவந்து ஒன்று சேர்த்தாலும் - அல்லாஹ் நாடினாலன்றி அவர்கள் ஈமான் கொள்ள மாட்டார்கள் - அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் மூடர்களாகவே இருக்கின்றனர்.

and other have confessed their sins; they have mixed a righteous deed with another evil. it may be that god will turn towards them; god is all-forgiving, all-compassionate.
வேறு சிலர் தம் குற்றங்களை ஒப்புக்கொள்கின்றனர்; ஆனால் அவர்கள் (அறியாது நல்ல) ஸாலிஹான காரியத்தைக் கெட்டகாரியத்துடன் சேர்த்து விடுகிறார்கள். ஒரு வேளை அல்லாஹ் அவர்களின் (தவ்பாவை ஏற்று) மன்னிக்கப் போதும், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் மன்னிப்பவனாகவும், பெருங் கிருபையாளனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

and had they kept the taurat and the injeel established, and what was sent down towards them from their lord, they would have received sustenance from above and from beneath their feet; among them is a group who is fair; but most of them commit extremely evil deeds.
இன்னும்; அவர்கள் தவ்ராத்தையும், இன்ஜீலையும், இன்னும் தம் இறைவனிடத்திலிருந்து தங்களுக்கு இறக்கப்பட்டதையும், நிலைநாட்டியிருந்தால் அவர்கள் மேலே - (வானத்தில்) இருந்தும், தம் பாதங்களுக்கு அடியில் (பூமியில்) இருந்தும் (இன்பத்தைப்) புசித்திருப்பார்கள்; அவர்களில் சிலர்(தாம்) நேர்வழியுள்ள சமுதாயத்தினராய் இருக்கின்றனர், அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் செய்யும் காரியங்கள் மிகக் கெட்டவையேயாகும்.

allah sets forth an example to those who disbelieve the wife of nuh and the wife of lut: they were both under two of our righteous servants, but they acted treacherously towards them so they availed them naught against allah, and it was said: enter both the fire with those who enter.
நிராகரிப்பவர்களுக்கு, நூஹுடைய மனைவியையும் லூத்துடைய மனைவியையும் அல்லாஹ் உதாரணமாக்கி வைக்கிறான,; இவ்விருவரும் ஸாலிஹான நம் நல்லடியார்களில், இரு நல்லடியார்களின் மனiவிகளாகவே இருந்தனர், எனினும் இவ்விருவரும் தம் கணவர்களை மோசம் செய்தனர், எனவே, அவ்விருவரும் (தம் மனைவியரான) அவ்விருவரைவிட்டும் அல்லாஹ்விலிருந்து (வேதனையைத்) தடுக்க இயலவில்லை, இன்னும், "நீங்களிருவரும் (நரக) நெருப்பில் நுழைபவர்களுடனே நுழையுங்கள்" என்று (இவ்விருவருக்கும்) கூறப்பட்டது.
