mi commuovono ancora le parole che rivolse a don giussani nel 1995, durante un incontro di sacerdoti, quando ringraziò «il signore che ha dato a monsignor giussani questo dono di riesprimere continuamente il nucleo del cristianesimo.
i am still moved by the words that he addressed to fr. giussani in 1995, during a meeting of priests, when he thanked “the lord, who gave msgr. giussani this gift for continually re-expressing the core of christianity. ‘every time that you talk, you always return to this core, which is the incarnation, and – in a thousand different ways – you propose it again.’”

così l’omelia del porporato nella sintesi dell’ osservatore romano del 24 febbraio: «“l’intelligenza con cui interpellava ogni interlocutore”, la “sua capacità di riesprimere i dogmi della fede per portarli vicini all’esistenza della gente” sono ormai entrati a pieno titolo nel “patrimonio della chiesa e dell’umanità” […], un’eredità che costituisce “un lievito che certo non ha esaurito la sua forza, ma darà, in questo tempo dopo la sua morte, frutti sempre nuovi”».
