and he said unto them, know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

kaj li parolis la jenan parabolon, ankaux por iuj, kiuj fidis al si, ke ili estas justuloj, kaj malestimis la ceterajn:
and he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

kaj kiam oni auxdis tion, li parolis ankoraux parabolon, cxar li estis proksime al jerusalem, kaj oni supozis, ke la regno de dio tuj aperos.
and as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of god should immediately appear.

and utter a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, thus saith the lord god; set on a pot, set it on, and also pour water into it:

en tiu tempo oni parolos pri vi parabolon, kaj oni prikantos vin per plorkanto, dirante:ni estas tute ruinigitaj; la posedajxo de mia popolo transiris al alia; kiamaniere povas reveni al ni niaj kampoj, se ili jam estas disdividitaj!
in that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, we be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields.
