(but) say the unbelievers: "this is indeed an evident sorcerer!"

en zeggen: dit is niet anders dan duidelijke tooverij.
and they say: this is nothing but clear magic:

is dit tooverij? maar de toovenaars zullen geen voorspoed genieten.
is this magic? and the magicians fare not well.

37:15 en zeggen: dit is niet anders dan duidelijke tooverij.
37:15 and say, this is no other than manifest sorcery:

en toen hij hun duidelijke wonderen toonde, zeiden zij: dit is klaarblijkelijk tooverij.
but when he (ahmad i.e. muhammad saw) came to them with clear proofs, they said: "this is plain magic."

en toen onze zichtbare teekenen tot hen waren gekomen, zeiden zij: dit is duidelijke tooverij.
and when our signs came as distinct proofs, they said: "this is only magic."

en toen de waarheid van ons tot hen kwam, zeiden zij: waarlijk, dit is duidelijke tooverij.
and when the truth came to them from us, they said, “this is clearly sorcery.”

en zie, hunne koorden en hunne staven schenen hem toe, door hunne tooverij als slangen te loopen.
and lo! their cords and their staves were made to appear to him by their magic as though they were running.
