but we cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness,

men vi sa til ham: «vær ikke redd!

og han talte strengt til ham og drev ham straks ut,
and he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;

men straks blev hans munn oplatt og hans tunge løst, og han talte og lovet gud.
and his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised god.

men vi sa til ham: «vær ikke redd! du er ovenpå!
but we said to him: 'do not be afraid; you shall surely be the uppermost.

og straks blev hans ører oplatt, og hans tunges bånd blev løst, og han talte rent.
and straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.

og meget folk fulgte ham, og han helbredet dem der.
and great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

satan fulgte etter ham, og han kom på gale veier.
and he became one of those who went astray,

men hans folk argumenterte med ham, og han sa: «vil dere krangle med meg om gud?
and his people argued with him; he said, “what!

derefter stod abraham op og gikk bort fra sin døde hustru, og han talte til hets barn og sa:
and abraham stood up from before his dead, and spake unto the sons of heth, saying,

du skal bede til ham, og han skal høre dig, og du skal opfylle dine løfter,
thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.

en ugjerning henger ved ham, og han som ligger der, skal ikke stå op mere.

allah is wroth against him and he hath cursed him and prepared for him an awful doom.

formet ham, og blåste sin ånd i ham, og han har gitt dere hørsel, syn og forstand.
but he fashioned him in due proportion, and breathed into him something of his spirit.

de svarte: «nei, men vi fant at våre fedre gjorde dette.»
or can they benefit or harm you?"

og meget folk vandret sammen med ham. og han vendte sig og sa til dem:
and there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,

for de var gjenstridige mot hans* Ånd, og han talte tankeløst med sine leber. / {* d.e. guds.}
because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

og han finner ingen utenom gud, som kan ta seg av ham og hjelpe.
he will not find any protector or patron for himself besides god.

da blev saulus, som også kaltes paulus, fylt av den hellige Ånd, og han så skarpt på ham og sa:
then saul, (who also is called paul,) filled with the holy ghost, set his eyes on him,

og han så på dem som satt omkring ham, og sa: se, det er min mor og mine brødre!
and he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, behold my mother and my brethren!
