for ye shall pass over jordan to go in to possess the land which the lord your god giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein.

wathi uyoshuwa koonyana bakasirayeli, koda kube nini na nikunqena ukuya kulihlutha elo zwe aninike lona uyehova uthixo wooyihlo?
and joshua said unto the children of israel, how long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the lord god of your fathers hath given you?

kaloku uyehova, uthixo kasirayeli, uwagqogqile ama-amori phambi kwabantu bakhe amasirayeli. uya kulihlutha na ke wena?
so now the lord god of israel hath dispossessed the amorites from before his people israel, and shouldest thou possess it?

kuba ilizwe elo uya kulo, usiya kulihlutha, alinjengelizwe laseyiputa, elo naphuma kulo, apho wayihlwayelayo imbewu yakho, waza wayinkcenkcesha ngonyawo lwakho, njengomyezo wemifuno.
for the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs:

wabanika isonka sasezulwini ngenxa yokulamba kwabo, wabavelisela namanzi engxondorheni ngenxa yokunxanwa kwabo; wathi kubo, mabaye kulihlutha ilizwe, owabaphakamisela isandla sakho, ukuba wobanika lona.
and gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them.

athi, sukani, sinyuke siye kubo; ngokuba silibonile ilizwe; nalo lilihle kunene, ke nithe quthu. musani ukunqena ukuhamba, niye kulihlutha ilizwe elo.
and they said, arise, that we may go up against them: for we have seen the land, and, behold, it is very good: and are ye still? be not slothful to go, and to enter to possess the land.
