chissà come mai ogni anno durante questo periodo capita, tra una fetta di panettone e una di cotechino, di vedere film che mai, e dico mai, avresti visto se avessi potuto scegliere da solo. questo anno mi è toccato subire il film “the wedding planner”, diretto da adam shankman, e girato negli usa ed in germania nel 2001, della durata di 103 minuti circa. nel film, la protagonista è mary fiore (jennifer lopez), un’organizzatrice di matrimoni dedita esclusivamente al lavoro che non ha tempo per l'amore, sebbene lo desideri, e che passa i suoi momenti liberi partecipando a noiose gare di scarabeo con gli amici. ma un giorno il destino ci mette lo zampino, e fa sì che in modo alquanto bizzarro incontri steve edison (matthew mcconaughey), brillante medico e soprattutto uomo molto affascinante. steve le salva la vita e tra i due nasce qualcosa di più di una simpatia. mentre si stanno per baciare, durante una sera al luna-park scoppia un temporale, e addio bacio appassionato. tutto rimandato? no, perchè il caso vuole che il più importante matrimonio dell'anno, quello che mary sta organizzando e seguendo di persona, sia proprio quello di steve! insomma, la solita trama di lei che conosce lui, che è impegnato con un’atra che lei conosce ma l'altra non lo sa etc etc etc… si sa dall'inizio, anzi dal titolo come andrà a finire. totalmente privo di originalità.
