do you feel secure that he who is in heaven will not cause the earth to swallow you , the while it rocks ?
কী ! যিনি উর ্ ধ ্ বলোকে রয়েছেন তাঁর কাছ থেকে কি তোমরা নিরাপত ্ তা গ ্ রহণ করেছ যে তিনি পৃথিবীকে দিয়ে তোমাদের গ ্ রাস করাবেন না , যখন আলবৎ তা আন ্ দোলিত হবে ?

are you so unafraid that he who is in heaven will not open up the earth to swallow you , when it will begin to tremble ?
কী ! যিনি উর ্ ধ ্ বলোকে রয়েছেন তাঁর কাছ থেকে কি তোমরা নিরাপত ্ তা গ ্ রহণ করেছ যে তিনি পৃথিবীকে দিয়ে তোমাদের গ ্ রাস করাবেন না , যখন আলবৎ তা আন ্ দোলিত হবে ?

believers ! do not swallow interest , doubled and redoubled , and be mindful of allah so that you may attain true success .
ওহে যারা ঈমান এনেছ ! সুদ গলাধঃকরণ করো না তাকে দ ্ বিগুণ ও বহুগুণিত করে ; আর আল ্ লাহ ্ ‌ কে ভয়-শ ্ রদ ্ ধা করো যাতে তোমরা সফলকাম হতে পারো ।

do those who do evil feel secure that allah will not make the earth to swallow them , or that the punishment will not fall upon them from where they do not know ?
যারা কুকর ্ মের চক ্ রান ্ ত করে তারা কি তবে নিরাপদ বোধ করে যে তাদের জন ্ য আল ্ লাহ ্ পৃথিবীকে ফাটল করবেন না , অথবা তাদের উপরে শাস ্ তি এসে পড়বে না এমন দিক থেকে যা তারা ধারণাও করে না ,

do those who devise evil schemes feel secure that allah will not make the earth swallow them , or the punishment will not overtake them whence they are not aware ?
যারা কুকর ্ মের চক ্ রান ্ ত করে তারা কি তবে নিরাপদ বোধ করে যে তাদের জন ্ য আল ্ লাহ ্ পৃথিবীকে ফাটল করবেন না , অথবা তাদের উপরে শাস ্ তি এসে পড়বে না এমন দিক থেকে যা তারা ধারণাও করে না ,

and throw down what is in your right hand ; it will swallow up all that they have wrought . they have wrought only a magician 's stratagem .
''আর তোমার ডান হাতে যা আছে তা ছোঁড়ো, এটি খেয়ে ফেলবে তারা যা বানিয়েছে। নিঃসন্দেহ তারা বানিয়েছে জাদুকরের ভেলকিবাজি। আর জাদুকর কখনো সফল হবে না যেখান থেকেই সে আসুক।’’

( as for ) those who swallow the property of the orphans unjustly , surely they only swallow fire into their bellies and they shall enter burning fire .
নিঃসন ্ দেহ যারা এতীমদের ধনসম ্ পত ্ তি অন ্ যায়ভাবে গ ্ রাস করে তারা নিশ ্ চয়ই তাদের পেটে আগুন গিলে । আর তারা শীঘ ্ রই প ্ রবেশ করবে জ ্ বলন ্ ত আগুনে ।

have they not regarded what lies before them and what lies behind them of heaven and earth ? did we will , we would make the earth to swallow them , or we would drop down on them lumps from heaven .
তারা কি তবে দেখে না তাদের সামনে কী রয়েছে আর কী রয়েছে তাদের পেছনে -- মহাকাশে ও পৃথিবীতে । আমরা যদি চাইতাম তবে তাদের সঙ ্ গে পৃথিবীকে ধসিয়ে দিতাম , অথবা তাদের উপরে আকাশ থেকে একটি চাঙড় ফেলে দিতাম । নিঃসন ্ দেহ এতে তো এক নিদর ্ শন রয়েছে প ্ রত ্ যাবৃত প ্ রত ্ যেক বান ্ দার জন ্ য ।

and we caused the earth to swallow him and his home . and there was for him no company to aid him other than allah , nor was he of those who [ could ] defend themselves .
অতঃপর আমরা পৃথিবীকে দিয়ে তাকে ও তার প ্ রাসাদকে গ ্ রাস করিয়েছিলাম , তখন তার জন ্ য এমন কোনো দল ছিল না যারা আল ্ লাহ ্ ‌ র বিরুদ ্ ধে তাকে সাহায ্ য করতে পারত , আর সে আ ‌ ত ্ মপক ্ ষকে সাহায ্ যকারীদের অন ্ তর ্ ভুক ্ ত ছিল না ।

then we caused the earth to swallow up him and his house ; and he had not ( the least little ) party to help him against allah , nor could he defend himself .
অতঃপর আমরা পৃথিবীকে দিয়ে তাকে ও তার প ্ রাসাদকে গ ্ রাস করিয়েছিলাম , তখন তার জন ্ য এমন কোনো দল ছিল না যারা আল ্ লাহ ্ ‌ র বিরুদ ্ ধে তাকে সাহায ্ য করতে পারত , আর সে আ ‌ ত ্ মপক ্ ষকে সাহায ্ যকারীদের অন ্ তর ্ ভুক ্ ত ছিল না ।

and it was commanded , “ o earth , swallow your water and , o sky , stop ” – and the water was dried up and the matter was completed – and the ship stopped upon the mount al-judi and it was said , “ away with the unjust nation ! ”
আর নির ্ দেশ দেয়া হল-হে পৃথিবী ! তোমার পানি গিলে ফেল , আর হে আকাশ , ক ্ ষান ্ ত হও । আর পানি হ ্ রাস করা হল এবং কাজ শেষ হয়ে গেল , আর জুদী পর ্ বতে নৌকা ভিড়ল এবং ঘোষনা করা হল , দুরাত ্ না কাফেররা নিপাত যাক ।
