it is only an inspiration that is inspired.
quraankuna waxaan waxyi eebe ahayn ma aha.

for that thy lord will have given her inspiration.
maxaayeelay eebaa u waxyooday.

it is no less than inspiration sent down to him:
quraankuna waxaan waxyi eebe ahayn ma aha.

it is naught save an inspiration that is inspired,
quraankuna waxaan waxyi eebe ahayn ma aha.

remember when we inspired your mother with a certain inspiration

recall, when we indicated to your mother through inspiration:
markaan u waxyoonay hooyadaa (ku ilhaamay) wixii lagu ilhaameeye.

"behold! we sent to thy mother, by inspiration, the message:
markaan u waxyoonay hooyadaa (ku ilhaamay) wixii lagu ilhaameeye.

"i have chosen thee: listen, then, to the inspiration (sent to thee).
anaana ku doortay ee maqal waxa laguu waxyoon.

and she who guarded her chastity, so we breathed into her of our inspiration and made her and her son a sign for the nations.

samaysana doon annagoo ku dhawri kuuna waxyoon hana igula hadlin (xaalka) kuwii dulmi falay waa ia maansheyne.

and construct the ship under our observation and our inspiration and do not address me concerning those who have wronged; indeed, they are [to be] drowned."

"but construct an ark under our eyes and our inspiration, and address me no (further) on behalf of those who are in sin: for they are about to be overwhelmed (in the flood)."
