የኃጢአት ባሪያዎች ሳላችሁ ከጽድቅ ነፃ ነበራችሁና።
for when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

እንዲሁ እኛ ደግሞ ሕፃናት ሆነን ሳለን ከዓለም መጀመሪያ ትምህርት በታች ተገዝተን ባሪያዎች ነበርን፤
even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:

ነገር ግን በዚያን ጊዜ እግዚአብሔርን ሳታውቁ በባሕርያቸው አማልክት ለማይሆኑ ባሪያዎች ሆናችሁ ተገዛችሁ፤
howbeit then, when ye knew not god, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.

ከሌሊቱም በሁለተኛው ወይም በሦስተኛው ክፍል መጥቶ እንዲሁ ቢያገኛቸው፥ እነዚያ ባሪያዎች ብፁዓን ናቸው።
and if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

እግዚአብሔርም ዘሩ በሌላ አገር መጻተኞች እንዲሆኑ አራት መቶ ዓመትም ባሪያዎች እንዲያደርጉአቸው እንዲያስጨንቁአቸውም እንዲህ ተናገረ፤
and god spake on this wise, that his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat them evil four hundred years.

ባሪያዎች ሆይ፥ ለክርስቶስ እንደምትታዘዙ በፍርሃትና በመንቀጥቀጥ በልባችሁ ቅንነት በሥጋ ጌቶቻችሁ ለሆኑ ታዘዙ፤
servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto christ;

ራሳቸው የጥፋት ባሪያዎች ሆነው። አርነት ትወጣላችሁ እያሉ ተስፋ ይሰጡአቸዋል፤ ሰው ለተሸነፈበት ለእርሱ ተገዝቶ ባሪያ ነውና።
while they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

ክርስቶስ ኢየሱስን ጌታ እንደ ሆነ እንጂ ራሳችንን አንሰብክምና፥ ስለ ኢየሱስም ራሳችንን ለእናንተ ባሪያዎች እናደርጋለን።
for we preach not ourselves, but christ jesus the lord; and ourselves your servants for jesus' sake.

እንዲሁ እናንተ ደግሞ የታዘዛችሁትን ሁሉ ባደረጋችሁ ጊዜ። የማንጠቅም ባሪያዎች ነን፥ ልናደርገው የሚገባንን አድርገናል በሉ።
so likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, we are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

ባሪያዎች ሆይ፥ በቅን ልብ ጌታን እየፈራችሁ እንጂ፥ ለሰው ደስ እንደምታሰኙ ለታይታ የምትገዙ ሳትሆኑ፥ በሥጋ ጌቶቻችሁ ለሆኑ በሁሉ ታዘዙ።
servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing god:

ማንም ባሪያዎች ቢያደርጋችሁ፥ ማንም ቢበላችሁ፥ ማንም ቢቀማችሁ፥ ማንም ቢኮራባችሁ፥ ማንም ፊታችሁን በጥፊ ቢመታችሁ ትታገሣላችሁና።
for ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face.

በሚስቶቻቸው ወይም እጆቻቸው በያዟቸው ( ባሪያዎች ) ላይ ሲቀር ፡ ፡ እነርሱ ( በነዚህ ) የማይወቀሱ ናቸውና ፡ ፡
( except from their spouses or their slave women , for then they are not blameworthy ;

በሚስቶቻቸው ወይም እጆቻቸው በያዙዋቸው ( ባሪያዎች ) ላይ ሲቀር ፡ ፡ እነርሱ ( በእነዚህ ) የማይወቀሱ ናቸውና ፡ ፡
( apart from their spouses and their slave women , for then they are not blameworthy ;

ባሪያዎች ስለ መድኃኒታችን ስለ እግዚአብሔር የሚሆነውን ትምህርት በሁሉ ነገር ያስመሰግኑ ዘንድ፥ ለገዛ ጌቶቻቸው እንዲገዙ በሁሉም ደስ እንዲያሰኙ፥ ሳይቃወሙና ሳይሰርቁም በጎ ታማኝነትን ሁሉ እንዲያሳዩ ምከራቸው።
exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;

አላህ ለእነዚያ ለካዱት ሰዎች የኑሕን ሴትና የሉጥን ሴት ምሳሌ አደረገ ፡ ፡ ከባሮቻችን ከኾኑ ሁለት መልካም ባሪያዎች ሥር ነበሩ ፡ ፡ ከዱዋቸውም ፡ ፡ ከአላህም ( ቅጣት ኑሕና ሉጥ ) ከሚስቶቻቸው ምንም አልገፈተሩላቸውም ፡ ፡ ከገቢዎቹም ጋር « እሳትን ግቡ » ተባሉ ፡ ፡
allah citeth an example for those who disbelieve : the wife of noah and the wife of lot , who were under two of our righteous slaves yet betrayed them so that they ( the husbands ) availed them naught against allah and it was said ( unto them ) : enter the fire along with those who enter .
