then did the sorcerers fall down , prostrate in adoration ,
ድግምተኞቹም ሰጋጆች ኾነው ወደቁ ፡ ፡

so did the people of abraham and the people of lot ,
የኢብራሂምም ሕዝቦች የሉጥም ሕዝቦች ( አስተባብለዋል ) ፡ ፡

we never wronged them , but they themselves did the wrong .
አልበደልናቸውምም ፤ ግን በዳዮቹ እነርሱው ነበሩ ፡ ፡

and so too did the people of abraham and the people of lot ;
የኢብራሂምም ሕዝቦች የሉጥም ሕዝቦች ( አስተባብለዋል ) ፡ ፡

and you did the deed which you did . you are certainly ungrateful . "
« ያችንም የሠራሃትን ሥራህን አልሠራህምን አንተም ከውለታ ቢሶቹ ነህ » ( አለ ) ፡ ፡

and ( so did ) the people of ibrahim and the people of lut .
የኢብራሂምም ሕዝቦች የሉጥም ሕዝቦች ( አስተባብለዋል ) ፡ ፡

neither did the heavens weep for them , nor the earth , nor were they granted respite .
ሰማይና ምድርም በእነርሱ ላይ አላለቀሱም ፡ ፡ የሚቆዩም አልነበሩም ፡ ፡

and thus did the word of your lord prove true against those who disbelieved that they are the inmates of the fire .
እንደዚሁም የጌታህ ቃል በእነዚያ በካዱት ላይ እነርሱ የእሳት ጓዶች ናቸው ማለት ተረጋገጠች ፡ ፡

did the people of the towns think themselves secure from our wrath that could strike them at night during their sleep
የከተማዋ ሰዎችም እነሱ የተኙ ኾነው ቅጣታችን ሌሊት ሊመጣባቸው አይፈሩምን

did the people of the towns then feel secure against the coming of our punishment by night while they are asleep ?
የከተማዋ ሰዎችም እነሱ የተኙ ኾነው ቅጣታችን ሌሊት ሊመጣባቸው አይፈሩምን

the people of noah denied before them , and [ so did ] the people of rass and thamud ,
ከእነርሱ በፊት የኑሕ ሕዝቦችና የረሰስ ሰዎች ፤ ሰሙድም አስተባበሉ ፡ ፡

before them , the people of noah and the people of rass denied this truth ; and so did the people of thamud .
ከእነርሱ በፊት የኑሕ ሕዝቦችና የረሰስ ሰዎች ፤ ሰሙድም አስተባበሉ ፡ ፡

and so did the dwellers of midian , and moses too was branded a liar . initially i granted respite to the unbelievers for a while and then seized them .
የመድየንም ሰዎች ( አስተባብለዋል ) ፡ ፡ ሙሳም ተስተባብሏል ፡ ፡ ለከሓዲዎቹም ጊዜ ሰጠኋቸው ፡ ፡ ከዚያም ያዝቸው ፡ ፡ ጥላቻዬም እንዴት ነበረ !

before them the people of noah rejected the truth , as did the confederates after them . every community plotted against their messenger , to capture him .
ከእነርሱ በፊት የኑሕ ሕዝቦች ከኋላቸውም አሕዛቦቹ አስተባባሉ ፡ ፡ ሕዝቦችም ሁሉ መልክተኛቸውን ሊይዙ አሰቡ ፡ ፡ በውሸትም በእርሱ እውነትን ሊያጠፉበት ተከራከሩ ፡ ፡ ያዝኳቸውም ፡ ፡ ታዲያ ቅጣቴ እንዴት ነበር ?

did the time of the covenant seem long to you ? or did you desire that the anger of your lord should fall upon you so that you failed in your coming to my appointment '
ሙሳም ወደ ሰዎቹ የተቆጣ ያዘነ ኾኖ ተመለሰ ፡ ፡ « ሕዝቦቼ ሆይ ! ጌታችሁ መልካም ተስፋን አልቀጠራችሁምን ቀጠሮው በእናንተ ላይ ረዘመባችሁን » ወይስ በእናንተ ላይ ከጌታችሁ ቅጣት ሊወርድባችሁ ፈለጋችሁና ቀጠሮየን አፈረሳችሁን አላቸው ፡ ፡

the nation of noah before them belied , and so did the parties after them . every nation strove against their messenger to seize him , disputing with false arguments to refute the truth .
ከእነርሱ በፊት የኑሕ ሕዝቦች ከኋላቸውም አሕዛቦቹ አስተባባሉ ፡ ፡ ሕዝቦችም ሁሉ መልክተኛቸውን ሊይዙ አሰቡ ፡ ፡ በውሸትም በእርሱ እውነትን ሊያጠፉበት ተከራከሩ ፡ ፡ ያዝኳቸውም ፡ ፡ ታዲያ ቅጣቴ እንዴት ነበር ?
