and plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate ,
« ከዘባራቂዎቹም ጋር እንዘባርቅ ነበርን ፡ ፡

no indeed ! he is an obstinate opponent of our signs .
ይከልከል ፤ እርሱ ለአንቀጾቻችን በእርግጥ ተቃዋሚ ነበር ፡ ፡

and they besought judgment , and disappointed was every tyrant obstinate .
እርዳታንም ( ከአላህ ) ፈለጉ ፤ ( ተረዱም ) ፡ ፡ ጨካኝ ሞገደኛ የኾነም ሁሉ አፈረ ፡ ፡

[ allah will say ] , " throw into hell every obstinate disbeliever ,
« ሞገደኛ ከሓዲን ሁሉ በገሀነም ውስጥ ጣሉ ፡ ፡ »

( for beauty ) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits ,
አመጸኛም ከሆነ ሰይጣን ሁሉ መጠበቅን ጠበቅናት ፡ ፡

" nor had we any authority over you . nay , it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion !
« ለእኛም በእናንተ ላይ ምንም ስልጣን አልነበረንም ፡ ፡ በእርግጥ እናንተ ጠማሞች ሕዝቦች ነበራችሁ ፡ ፡

and they requested victory from allah , and disappointed , [ therefore ] , was every obstinate tyrant .
እርዳታንም ( ከአላህ ) ፈለጉ ፤ ( ተረዱም ) ፡ ፡ ጨካኝ ሞገደኛ የኾነም ሁሉ አፈረ ፡ ፡

and yet among men there are such as dispute about allah , without knowledge , and follow every evil one obstinate in rebellion !
ከሰዎቹም ያለ ዕውቀት በአላህ ነገር የሚከራከር ፤ ሞገደኛ ሰይጣንንም ሁሉ የሚከተል ሰው አልለ ፡ ፡

and that was ' aad , who rejected the signs of their lord and disobeyed his messengers and followed the order of every obstinate tyrant .
ይህች ( ነገድ ) ዓድ ናት ፡ ፡ በጌታቸው ታምራት ካዱ ፡ ፡ መልክተኞቹንም አመጹ ፤ የኃያል ሞገደኛን ሁሉ ትዕዛዝም ተከተሉ ፡ ፡

but if they are obstinate , know that god is your helper and protector : how excellent a helper , and how excellent a protector is he !
( ከእምነት ) ቢዞሩም አላህ ረዳታችሁ መኾኑን ዕወቁ ፡ ፡ ( እርሱ ) ምን ያምር ጠባቂ ! ምን ያምርም ረዳት !

in front of him ( every obstinate , arrogant dictator ) is hell , and he will be made to drink boiling , festering water .
ከስተፊቱ ገሀነም አለበት ፡ ፡ እዥ ከኾነም ውሃ ይጋታል ፡ ፡

he hears the signs of allah rehearsed to him , yet is obstinate and lofty , as if he had not heard them : then announce to him a penalty grievous !
የአላህን አንቀጾች በእርሱ ላይ የሚነበቡለት ሲኾኑ ይሰማል ፡ ፡ ከዚያም የኮራ ሲኾን እንዳልሰማት ኾኖ ( በክሕደቱ ላይ ) ይዘወትራል ፡ ፡ በአሳማሚም ቅጣት አብስረው ፡ ፡

such were [ the people of ] ad : they impugned the signs of their lord and disobeyed his apostles , and followed the dictates of every obstinate tyrant .
ይህች ( ነገድ ) ዓድ ናት ፡ ፡ በጌታቸው ታምራት ካዱ ፡ ፡ መልክተኞቹንም አመጹ ፤ የኃያል ሞገደኛን ሁሉ ትዕዛዝም ተከተሉ ፡ ፡

" as for the youth , his parents were people of faith , and we feared that he would grieve them by obstinate rebellion and ingratitude ( to allah and man ) .
« ወጣቱም ልጅማ ወላጆቹ ምእመናን ነበሩ ፡ ፡ ( ቢያድግ ) ትእቢትንና ክህደትንም የሚያስገድዳቸው መኾኑን ፈራን ፡ ፡

" ( such ) as dispute about the signs of allah , without any authority that hath reached them , grievous and odious ( is such conduct ) in the sight of allah and of the believers . thus doth allah , seal up every heart - of arrogant and obstinate transgressors . "
እነዚያ ፤ የመጣላቸው አስረጅ ሳይኖር በአላህ ተዓምራቶች የሚከራከሩ ( ክርክራቸው ) አላህ ዘንድና እነዚያም አመኑት ዘንድ መጠላቱ በጣም ተለቀ ፡ ፡ እንደዚሁ አላህ በኩሩ ጨካኝ ( ሰው ) ልብ ሁሉ ላይ ያትማል ፡ ፡
