the bearing inserts and the mating surface that hold them must be sized perfectly.

during the running-in phase of glycodur f bearings one part of the polytetrafluoroethylene top layer will be transferred to the mating surface.

mating surfaces that are not locked in place (see left figure)
superfici d’appoggio non fissate (vedere figura a sinistra).

super glue is simply applied to mating surfaces, and the sections are joined.

when the bolt and/or nut is tightened the teeth grip and seat the mating surfaces.

furthermore all mating surfaces of their machines are hand scraped for absolute smooth movement and machining accuracy.

when deciding on the material to be used and the surface roughness of the mating surfaces, the conditions under which the bearing system is to operate are of considerable importance.

many factors have an effect on the service life of a glycodur ® dry sliding bearing, including load, sliding velocity, operating temperature, roughness of the mating surface, etc. a calculation of the service life can therefore only be an approximation.

washer hardness in order to assure the unique wedge locking function of the nord-lock washers, the hardness of the mating surfaces should not exceed the hardness of the nord-lock washers.

* in order to assure the unique mechanical locking function of the nord-lock washers, the hardness of the mating surfaces must be lower than the hardness of the nord-lock washers (see table above).
