remember when you set forth in the morning from your house assigning the faithful positions for the battle, god heard everything and knew all.
(நபியே! நினைவு கூர்வீராக) நீர் விடியற்காலையில் உம் குடும்பத்தாரை விட்டுச் சென்று முஃமின்களைப் போருக்காக (உஹது களத்தில் அவரவர்) இடத்தில் நிறுத்தினீர்;. அல்லாஹ் எல்லாவற்றையும் செவியுறுவோனாகவும் நன்கறிபவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

they are happy to stay home with those who are of no help in the battle, thus, their hearts were sealed and they were left with no understanding.
(போரில் கலந்துககொள்ள முடியாப் பெண்கள், முதியவர்களைப்போல்) பின் தங்கியவர்களுடன் இருக்கவே அவர்கள் விரும்புகிறார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய இருதயங்கள்மீது முத்திரையிடப்பட்டு விட்டது. ஆகவே (இதன் இழிவை) அவர்கள் விளங்கிக் கொள்ள மாட்டார்கள்.

for god had helped you during the battle of badr at a time when you were helpless. so act in compliance with the laws of god; you may well be grateful.

allah knows those of you who discourage others, and those who say to their brethren, ‘come to us!’ and take little part in the battle,
உங்களில் (போருக்குச் செல்வோரைத்) தடை செய்வோரையும் தம் சகோதரர்களை நோக்கி, "நம்மிடம் வந்து விடுங்கள்" என்று கூறுபவர்களையும் அல்லாஹ் திட்டமாக அறிந்து இருக்கிறான். அன்றியும் அவர்கள் சொற்பமாகவே போர் புரிய வருகிறார்கள்.

and already had allah given you victory at [the battle of] badr while you were few in number. then fear allah; perhaps you will be grateful.
"பத்று" போரில் நீங்கள் மிகவும் சக்தி குறைந்தவர்களாக இருந்த போது, அல்லாஹ் உங்களுக்கு உதவி புரிந்தான்;. ஆகவே நீங்கள் நன்றி செலுத்துவதற்காக அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு அஞ்சி நடந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்.

when a chapter of the quran is revealed telling them to believe in god and fight along with his messenger for his cause against his enemies, the healthy and rich ones of them ask you to exempt them from taking part in the battle for the cause of god and to let them stay home with the people who are of no help in the battle.
மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது ஈமான் கொண்டு, அவனுடைய தூதருடன் சேர்ந்து போர் புரியுங்கள்" என்று ஏதாவது ஓர் அத்தியாயம் இறக்கப்பட்டால், அவர்களில் வசதிபடைத்த செல்வந்தர்கள்; "எங்களை விட்டு விடுங்கள்; நாங்கள் (போருக்கு வராமல்) தங்கியிருப்போருடன் இருந்து கொள்கின்றோம்" என்று உம்மிடம் அனுமதி கோருகின்றனர்.

allah has helped you on many a battlefield. in the battle of hunain, when your numbers were pleasing you they availed you nothing; the earth, for all its vastness, seemed to close in upon you and you turned your backs and fled.
நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் உங்களுக்குப் பல போர்க்களங்களில் உதவி செய்திருக்கின்றான்; (நினைவு கூறுங்கள்;) ஆனால் ஹுனைன் (போர் நடந்த) அன்று. உங்களைப் பெருமகிழ்ச்சி கொள்ளச் செய்த உங்களுடைய அதிகமான (மக்கள்) தொகை உங்களுக்கு எவ்விதப் பலனும் அளிக்கவில்லை, (மிகவும்) பரந்த பூமி உங்களுக்கு (அப்போது) சுருக்கமாகிவிட்டது. அன்றியும் நீங்கள் புறங்காட்டிப் பின்வாங்கலானீர்கள்.

(muhammad), remember the morning when you left home to show the believers their position in the battle? god is all-hearing and all-knowing.
(நபியே! நினைவு கூர்வீராக) நீர் விடியற்காலையில் உம் குடும்பத்தாரை விட்டுச் சென்று முஃமின்களைப் போருக்காக (உஹது களத்தில் அவரவர்) இடத்தில் நிறுத்தினீர்;. அல்லாஹ் எல்லாவற்றையும் செவியுறுவோனாகவும் நன்கறிபவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

[it is] just as when your lord brought you out of your home [for the battle of badr] in truth, while indeed, a party among the believers were unwilling,
(நபியே!) உம் இறைவன் உம்மை உம் வீட்டைவிட்டு சத்தியத்தைக் கொண்டு (பத்ரு களம் நோக்கி) வெளியேற்றிய போது முஃமின்களில் ஒரு பிரிவினர் (உம்முடன் வர இணக்கமில்லாது) வெறுத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தது போல.

indeed god has helped you on many occasions, even during the battle of hunain, when you were elated with joy at your numbers which did not prove of the least avail, so that the earth and its vast expanse became too narrow for you, and you turned back and retreated.
நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் உங்களுக்குப் பல போர்க்களங்களில் உதவி செய்திருக்கின்றான்; (நினைவு கூறுங்கள்;) ஆனால் ஹுனைன் (போர் நடந்த) அன்று. உங்களைப் பெருமகிழ்ச்சி கொள்ளச் செய்த உங்களுடைய அதிகமான (மக்கள்) தொகை உங்களுக்கு எவ்விதப் பலனும் அளிக்கவில்லை, (மிகவும்) பரந்த பூமி உங்களுக்கு (அப்போது) சுருக்கமாகிவிட்டது. அன்றியும் நீங்கள் புறங்காட்டிப் பின்வாங்கலானீர்கள்.

and what you suffered (of the disaster) on the day (of the battle of uhud when) the two armies met, was by the leave of allah, in order that he might test the believers.
மேலும், (நீங்களும் முஷ்ரிக்குகளும் ஆகிய) இரு கூட்டத்தினரும் சந்தித்த நாளையில் உங்களுக்கு ஏற்பட்ட துன்பங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் அனுமதி கொண்டே தான் (ஏற்பட்டன. இவ்வாறு ஏற்பட்டதும்) முஃமின்களை (சோதித்து) அறிவதற்காகவேயாம்.

there was a token for you in the two armies which clashed (in the battle of badr), one fighting for god, the other of unbelievers who saw with their own eyes the faithful to be two times as many as they, for god reinforces with his help whomsoever he will. in this is a lesson for those who have eyes.
(பத்ரு களத்தில்) சந்தித்த இரு சேனைகளிலும் உங்களுக்கு ஓர் அத்தாட்சி நிச்சயமாக உள்ளது. ஒரு சேனை அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையில் போரிட்டது. பிறிதொன்று காஃபிர்களாக இருந்தது. நிராகரிப்போர் அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையில் போரிடுவோரைத் தங்களைப்போல் இரு மடங்காகத் தம் கண்களால் கண்டனர்;. இன்னும், அல்லாஹ் தான் நாடியவர்களுக்குத் தன் உதவியைக் கொண்டு பலப்படுத்துகிறான்;. நிச்சயமாக, (அகப்) பார்வையுடையோருக்கு இதில் திடனாக ஒரு படிப்பினை இருக்கிறது.

and [remember] when you, [o muhammad], left your family in the morning to post the believers at their stations for the battle [of uhud] - and allah is hearing and knowing -
(நபியே! நினைவு கூர்வீராக) நீர் விடியற்காலையில் உம் குடும்பத்தாரை விட்டுச் சென்று முஃமின்களைப் போருக்காக (உஹது களத்தில் அவரவர்) இடத்தில் நிறுத்தினீர்;. அல்லாஹ் எல்லாவற்றையும் செவியுறுவோனாகவும் நன்கறிபவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

and (remember) when you (muhammad saw) left your household in the morning to post the believers at their stations for the battle (of uhud). and allah is all-hearer, all-knower.
(நபியே! நினைவு கூர்வீராக) நீர் விடியற்காலையில் உம் குடும்பத்தாரை விட்டுச் சென்று முஃமின்களைப் போருக்காக (உஹது களத்தில் அவரவர்) இடத்தில் நிறுத்தினீர்;. அல்லாஹ் எல்லாவற்றையும் செவியுறுவோனாகவும் நன்கறிபவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

(that day) when you were at one end of the valley, (the unbelievers) at the other, and the caravan below you (on the lowland by the coast), you would surely have declined to fight if (the makkans) had offered you battle. (but the battle did take place) that god may end the matter which had been accomplished, so that he who had to die may perish after a clear demonstration, and he who had to live may survive in the light of positive proof, for god hears all and knows everything.
(பத்ரு போர்க்களத்தில் மதீனா பக்கம்) பள்ளத்தாக்கில் நீங்களும், (எதிரிகள்) தூரமான கோடியிலும், (குறைஷி வியாபாரிகளாகிய) வாகனக்காரர்கள் உங்கள் கீழ்ப்புறத்திலும் இருந்தீர்கள். நீங்களும் அவர்களும் (சந்திக்கும் காலம் இடம் பற்றி) வாக்குறுதி செய்திருந்த போதிலும் அதை நிறைவேற்றுவதில் நிச்சயமாகக் கருத்து வேற்றுமை கொண்டிருப்பீர்கள்; ஆனால் செய்யப்பட வேண்டிய காரியத்தை அல்லாஹ் நிறைவேற்றுவதற்காகவும், அழிந்தவர்கள் தக்க முகாந்தரத்துடன் அழிவதற்காகவும், தப்பிப் பிழைத்தவர்கள் தக்க முகாந்தரத்தைக் கொண்டே தப்பிக்கவும் (இவ்வாறு அவன் செய்தான்) - நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் செவியேற்பவனாகவும், அறிபவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.
