or have we given them a book prior to this one , to which they adhere ?
ከእርሱ ( ከቁርኣን ) በፊት መጽሐፍን ሰጠናቸውን ? ስለዚህ እነርሱ እርሱን የጨበጡ ናቸውን ?

so adhere to that which is revealed to you . indeed , you are on a straight path .

those who adhere to the scripture , and practice prayer — we will not waste the reward of the reformers .
እነዚያም መጽሐፉን ጠብቀው የሚይዙ ሶላትንም በደንቡ የሰገዱ እኛ የመልካም ሠሪዎችን ዋጋ አናጠፋም ፡ ፡

and exhort your people to pray , and patiently adhere to it . we ask of you no sustenance , but it is we who sustain you .
ቤተሰብህንም በስግደት እዘዝ ፡ ፡ በእርሷም ላይ ዘውትር ፤ ( ጽና ) ፡ ፡ ሲሳይን አንጠይቅህም ፡ ፡ እኛ እንሰጥሃለን ፡ ፡ መልካሚቱ መጨረሻም ለጥንቁቆቹ ናት ፡ ፡

as for those who adhere to the book and are firm in devotion , we shall certainly not let the wages of those who are upright to go waste .
እነዚያም መጽሐፉን ጠብቀው የሚይዙ ሶላትንም በደንቡ የሰገዱ እኛ የመልካም ሠሪዎችን ዋጋ አናጠፋም ፡ ፡

[ adhere to it ] , turning in repentance to him , and fear him and establish prayer and do not be of those who associate others with allah
ወደእርሱ ተመላሾች ሆናቸሁ ( የአላህን ሃይማኖት ያዙ ) ፡ ፡ ፍሩትም ፡ ፡ ሶላትንም አስተካክላችሁ ስገዱ ፡ ፡ ከአጋሪዎቹም አትሁኑ ፡ ፡

( adhere to the true faith and ) turn to him , and hold him in awe , and establish prayer , and do not be of those who associate others with allah in his divinity ,
ወደእርሱ ተመላሾች ሆናቸሁ ( የአላህን ሃይማኖት ያዙ ) ፡ ፡ ፍሩትም ፡ ፡ ሶላትንም አስተካክላችሁ ስገዱ ፡ ፡ ከአጋሪዎቹም አትሁኑ ፡ ፡

( o prophet and his followers ) , turn your face singlemindedly to the true faith and adhere to the true nature on which allah has created human beings . the mould fashioned by allah cannot be altered .
ወደ እውነት ተዘንባይ ኾነህም ፊትህን ለሃይማኖት ቀጥ አድርግ ፡ ፡ የአላህን ፍጥረት ያችን አላህ ሰዎችን በእርስዋ ላይ የፈጠረባትን ( ሃይማኖት ያዟት ) ፡ ፡ የአላህን ፍጥረት መለወጥ የለም ፡ ፡ ይህ ቀጥተኛ ሃይማኖት ነው ፡ ፡ ግን አብዛኛዎቹ ሰዎች አያውቁም ፡ ፡

and enjoin prayer on your followers , and steadily adhere to it ; we do not ask you for subsistence ; we do give you subsistence , and the ( good ) end is for guarding ( against evil ) .
