so did you observe the idols lat and uzza ?
አል-ላትንና አል-ዑዛን አያችሁን ?

so did you observe him who turned away ?
ያንን ( ከእምነት ) የዞረውን አየህን ?

fear your lord , who created you from a single soul , and created from it its mate , and propagated from them many men and women . and revere god whom you ask about , and the parents .
እናንተ ሰዎች ሆይ ! ያንን ከአንዲት ነፍስ ( ከአዳም ) የፈጠራችሁን ከእርስዋም መቀናጆዋን ( ሔዋንን ) የፈጠረውን ከእነርሱም ብዙ ወንዶችንና ሴቶች የበተነውን ጌታችሁን ፍሩ ፡ ፡ ያንንም በርሱ የምትጠያየቁበትን አላህንና ዝምድናዎችንም ( ከመቁረጥ ) ተጠንቀቁ ፡ ፡ አላህ በእናንተ ላይ ተጠባባቂ ነውና ፡ ፡

and he had already led astray from among you much of creation , so did you not use reason ?
ከእናንተም ብዙን ፍጡር በእርግጥ አሳስቷል ፡ ፡ የምታውቁም አልነበራችሁምን ?

“ that you did not come after me ? so did you disobey my order ? ”
« እኔን ከመከተል ትዕዛዜን ጣስክን »

o you who have believed , do not ask about things which , if they are shown to you , will distress you . but if you ask about them while the qur 'an is being revealed , they will be shown to you .
እናንተ ያመናችሁ ሆይ ! ለእናንተ ቢገለጹ ከሚያስከፏችሁ ነገሮች አትጠይቁ ፡ ፡ ቁርኣንም በሚወርድበት ጊዜ ከእርሷ ብትጠይቁ ለናንተ ትገለጻለች ፤ ከእርሷ አላህ ይቅርታ አደረገ ፡ ፡ አላህም መሓሪ ታጋሽ ነው ፡ ፡

not so did you cover yourselves , that your hearing , your eyes and your skins should not bear witness against you ; but you thought that god would never know much of the things that you were working .
ጆሮዎቻችሁ ዓይኖቻችሁና ቆዳዎቻችሁም በእናንተ ላይ ከመመስከራቸው የምትደበቁ አልነበራችሁም ፡ ፡ ግን አላህ ከምትሠሩት ብዙውን አያውቅም ብላችሁ ጠረጠራችሁ ፡ ፡

“ and he has indeed led a large number of you astray ; so did you not have sense ? ”
ከእናንተም ብዙን ፍጡር በእርግጥ አሳስቷል ፡ ፡ የምታውቁም አልነበራችሁምን ?

believers , do not ask about things that if they appeared to you , would only upset you ; but if you ask about them when the koran is being sent down , they shall be made plain to you . allah will pardon it ; allah is forgiving , clement .
እናንተ ያመናችሁ ሆይ ! ለእናንተ ቢገለጹ ከሚያስከፏችሁ ነገሮች አትጠይቁ ፡ ፡ ቁርኣንም በሚወርድበት ጊዜ ከእርሷ ብትጠይቁ ለናንተ ትገለጻለች ፤ ከእርሷ አላህ ይቅርታ አደረገ ፡ ፡ አላህም መሓሪ ታጋሽ ነው ፡ ፡

but if you ask about them when the qur 'an is being revealed they will be unfolded to you . god has overlooked ( your failings ) in this ( respect ) , for god is forgiving and forbearing .
እናንተ ያመናችሁ ሆይ ! ለእናንተ ቢገለጹ ከሚያስከፏችሁ ነገሮች አትጠይቁ ፡ ፡ ቁርኣንም በሚወርድበት ጊዜ ከእርሷ ብትጠይቁ ለናንተ ትገለጻለች ፤ ከእርሷ አላህ ይቅርታ አደረገ ፡ ፡ አላህም መሓሪ ታጋሽ ነው ፡ ፡

o people who believe ! do not ask about matters which , if disclosed to you , would be disliked by you ; and if you ask about them while the qur an ’ is being sent down , they will be disclosed to you ; allah has forgiven these ; and allah is oft forgiving , most forbearing .
እናንተ ያመናችሁ ሆይ ! ለእናንተ ቢገለጹ ከሚያስከፏችሁ ነገሮች አትጠይቁ ፡ ፡ ቁርኣንም በሚወርድበት ጊዜ ከእርሷ ብትጠይቁ ለናንተ ትገለጻለች ፤ ከእርሷ አላህ ይቅርታ አደረገ ፡ ፡ አላህም መሓሪ ታጋሽ ነው ፡ ፡

he said , ‘ did you see ? ! when we took shelter at the rock , indeed i forgot about the fish — and none but satan made me forget to mention it ! — and it made its way into the sea in an amazing manner ! ’
« አየህን ወደ ቋጥኝዋ በተጠጋን ጊዜ እኔ ዐሣውን ረሳሁ ፡ ፡ ማስታወሱንም ሰይጣን እንጂ ሌላ አላስረሳኝም ፡ ፡ በባሕሩም ውስጥ መንገዱን አስደናቂ ( መንገድ ) አድርጎ ያዘ » አለ ፡ ፡

when it was said to you , " god 's promise is true : there is no doubt about the hour , " did you not reply , ' we do not know what the hour is . we think it to be nothing but a conjecture , and we are not convinced ' "
« የአላህ ቀጠሮ እውነት ነው ፡ ፡ ሰዓቲቱም በእርሷ ( መምጣት ) ጥርጥር የለም ፡ ፡ » በተባለ ጊዜም « ሰዓቲቱ ምን እንደ ኾነች አናውቅም ፡ ፡ መጠራጠርን የምንጠራጠር እንጅ ሌላ አይደለንም ፡ ፡ እኛም አረጋጋጮች አይደለንም » አላችሁ ፡ ፡
