5. september 2005 - der heutige tag fängt locker an. unter strahlend blauem himmel geht die fahrt mit den mountainbikes gerade aus dem bhaga river entlang bis zum checkpoint bei darcha. darcha ist die letzte ansiedung im lahaul valley bevor es über die ganz grossen pässe geht. ab hier beginnt der aufstieg zum 4830 meter hohen pass baralacha la. schon nach kurzem anstieg hat man einen überwältigeden ausblick auf das flussdelta bei darcha. immer weiter geht's bergauf, vorbei an patseo einem grossen militärlager.
