بیشک میں نے اپنا رُخ (ہر سمت سے ہٹا کر) یکسوئی سے اس (ذات) کی طرف پھیر لیا ہے جس نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو بے مثال پیدا فرمایا ہے اور (جان لو کہ) میں مشرکوں میں سے نہیں ہوں،

abraham was neither a jew nor a christian, but he was one inclining toward truth, a muslim [submitting to allah]. and he was not of the polytheists.
ابراھیم نہ یہوودی تھے اور نہ نصرانی لیکن سیدھے راستے والے مسلمان تھے اور مشرکوں میں سے نہ تھے

and [commanded], 'direct your face toward the religion, inclining to truth, and never be of those who associate others with allah;
اور آپ اپنا رخ بالکل دین کی طرف رکھیں. باطل سے الگ رہیں اور ہرگز مشرکین کی جماعت میں شمار نہ ہوں

then we revealed to you, [o muhammad], to follow the religion of abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of those who associate with allah.
اس کے بعد ہم نے آپ کی طرف وحی کی کہ ابراہیم علیھ السّلام حنیف کے طریقہ کا اتباع کریں کہ وہ مشرکین میں سے نہیں تھے
