اور اس قول میں سچے ہو تو (ذرا) اس روح کو تو لوٹاؤ

اگر ہم چاہتے تو اسے سخت بھاری بنا دیتے پھر تم شکر کیوں نہیں کرتے؟

اب کہیں گے یہ اللہ ہی کی شان ہے، تم فرماؤ پھر کس جادو کے فریب میں پڑے ہو

he said, "o my people, why are you impatient for evil instead of good? why do you not seek forgiveness of allah that you may receive mercy?"
(صالح علیہ السلام نے) فرمایا: اے میری قوم! تم لوگ بھلائی (یعنی رحمت) سے پہلے برائی (یعنی عذاب) میں کیوں جلدی چاہتے ہو؟ تم اللہ سے بخشش کیوں طلب نہیں کرتے تاکہ تم پر رحم کیا جائے،

behold, you are those who have disputed greatly concerning matters which you knew; why are you now disputing about matters that you know nothing about? allah knows it whereas you do not know.
تم لوگ جن چیزوں کا علم رکھتے ہو اُن میں تو خوب بحثیں کر چکے، اب ان معاملات میں کیوں بحث کرنے چلے ہو جن کا تمہارے پاس کچھ بھی علم نہیں اللہ جانتا ہے، تم نہیں جانتے

he said, “o my people, why are you quick to do evil rather than good? if only you would seek god’s forgiveness, so that you may be shown mercy.”
(صالح علیہ السلام نے) فرمایا: اے میری قوم! تم لوگ بھلائی (یعنی رحمت) سے پہلے برائی (یعنی عذاب) میں کیوں جلدی چاہتے ہو؟ تم اللہ سے بخشش کیوں طلب نہیں کرتے تاکہ تم پر رحم کیا جائے،

"why are you surprised at the command of god? god's mercy and blessings be upon you, o members of this household," they said. "verily he is worthy of praise and glory."
انہوں (فرشتوں) نے کہا کیا تم اللہ کے کام پر تعجب کرتی ہو؟ اللہ کی رحمت اور اس کی برکتیں ہوں تم پر اے (ابراہیم(ع) کے) گھر والو بے شک وہ بڑا ستائش کیا ہوا ہے، بڑی شان والا ہے۔
