உங்களுக்கு என்ன (நேர்ந்து விட்டது)? எவ்வாறு நீங்கள் தீர்மானிக்கிறீர்கள்?

what is wrong with the disbelievers who roam around you (muhammad),
நிராகரிப்பவர்களுக்கு என்ன? (கழுத்துகளை நீட்டியவாறு அவர்கள்) உங்கள் முன் ஓடிவருகின்றனர்.

o my people, what is wrong with me that i am calling you to preservation, while you invite me to the fire!
"என்னுடைய சமூகத்தாரே! எனக்கென்ன? நான் உங்களை ஈடேற்றத்தின்பால் அழைக்கிறேன்; ஆனால் நீங்களோ என்னை (நரக) நெருப்பினால் அழைக்கிறீர்கள்.

verily allah will not deal unjustly with man in aught: it is man that wrongs his own soul.
நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் மனிதர்களுக்கு எவ்வித அநியாயமும் செய்வதில்லை - எனினும் மனிதர்கள் தமக்குத் தாமே அநியாயம் செய்து கொள்கிறார்கள்.

then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition?
நல்லுபதேசத்தை விட்டும் முகம் திருப்புகிறார்களே - இவர்களுக்கு என்ன நேர்ந்தது?

[they will be asked], "what is [wrong] with you? why do you not help each other?"
"உங்களுக்கு என்ன நேர்ந்தது? நீங்கள் ஏன் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் (உலகில் செய்தது போன்று) உதவி செய்து கொள்ளவில்லை?" (என்று கேட்கப்படும்).

then when they forgot that wherewith they had been exhorted, we delivered those who restrained from evil, and we laid hold of those who did wrong with a distressing torment for they were wont to transgress.
அவர்கள் எது குறித்து உபதேசிக்கப் பட்டார்களோ, அதனை அவர்கள் மறந்து விட்டபோது, அவர்களைத் தீமையைவிட்டு விலக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்களை நாம் காப்பாற்றினோம்; வரம்பு மீறி அக்கிரமம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவர்களுக்கு, அவர்கள் செய்து வந்த பாவத்தின் காரணமாக கடுமையான வேதனையைக் கொடுத்தோம்.

and when they forgot that whereof they had been reminded, we rescued those who forbade wrong, and visited those who did wrong with dreadful punishment because they were evil-livers.
அவர்கள் எது குறித்து உபதேசிக்கப் பட்டார்களோ, அதனை அவர்கள் மறந்து விட்டபோது, அவர்களைத் தீமையைவிட்டு விலக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்களை நாம் காப்பாற்றினோம்; வரம்பு மீறி அக்கிரமம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவர்களுக்கு, அவர்கள் செய்து வந்த பாவத்தின் காரணமாக கடுமையான வேதனையைக் கொடுத்தோம்.

so when they forgot the remindings that had been given to them, we rescued those who forbade evil, but we seized those who did wrong with a severe torment because they used to rebel (disobey allah).
அவர்கள் எது குறித்து உபதேசிக்கப் பட்டார்களோ, அதனை அவர்கள் மறந்து விட்டபோது, அவர்களைத் தீமையைவிட்டு விலக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்களை நாம் காப்பாற்றினோம்; வரம்பு மீறி அக்கிரமம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவர்களுக்கு, அவர்கள் செய்து வந்த பாவத்தின் காரணமாக கடுமையான வேதனையைக் கொடுத்தோம்.
