then was jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
ከዚያ ወዲያ ኢየሱስ ከዲያብሎስ ይፈተን ዘንድ መንፈስ ወደ ምድረ በዳ ወሰደው፥

but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
ነገር ግን እያንዳንዱ በራሱ ምኞት ሲሳብና ሲታለል ይፈተናል።

neither let us tempt christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
ከእነርሱም አንዳንዶቹ ጌታን እንደ ተፈታተኑት በእባቦቹም እንደ ጠፉ ጌታን አንፈታተን።

እርሱ ራሱ ተፈትኖ መከራን ስለ ተቀበለ የሚፈተኑትን ሊረዳቸው ይችላልና።

he said : verily we have tempted thy people after thee , and the samiri hath led them astray .
( አላህ ) « እኛም ከአንተ በኋላ ሰዎችህን በእርግጥ ፈትተን ፡ ፡ ሳምራዊውም አሳሳታቸው » አለው ፡ ፡

and assuredly we have tempted those who were before them . so allah will surely know those who are true and he will surely know the liars .
እነዚያንም ከእነሱ በፊት የነበሩትን በእርግጥ ፈትነናል ፡ ፡ እነዚያንም እውነት የተናገሩትን አላህ በእርግጥ ያውቃል ፡ ፡ ውሸታሞቹንም ያውቃል ፡ ፡

aaron had said to them before : ' my nation , you have been tempted by it . your lord is the merciful .
ሃሩንም ከዚህ በፊት በእርግጥ አላቸው ፡ - « ሕዝቦቼ ሆይ ! ( ይህ ) በእርሱ የተሞከራችሁበት ብቻ ነው ፡ ፡ ጌታችሁም አልረሕማን ነው ፡ ፡ ተከተሉኝም ፡ ፡ ትዕዛዜንም ስሙ ፡ ፡ »

said he , ' we have tempted thy people since thou didst leave them . the samaritan has misled them into error . '
( አላህ ) « እኛም ከአንተ በኋላ ሰዎችህን በእርግጥ ፈትተን ፡ ፡ ሳምራዊውም አሳሳታቸው » አለው ፡ ፡

and they brought his shirt with false blood on it . he said , ' no ; but your spirits tempted you to do somewhat .
በቀሚሱም ላይ የውሸትን ደም አመጡ ፡ ፡ ( አባታቸው ) « አይደለም ፤ ነፍሶቻችሁ ( ውሸት ) ነገርን ለእናንተ ሸለሙላችሁ ፡ ፡ ስለዚህ መልካም ትዕግስት ( ማድረግ አለብኝ ) በምትሉትም ነገር ላይ መታገዣው አላህ ብቻ ነው » አለ ፡ ፡

jacob said , " your souls have tempted you in this matter . let us be patient and beg assistance from god if what you say is true . "
በቀሚሱም ላይ የውሸትን ደም አመጡ ፡ ፡ ( አባታቸው ) « አይደለም ፤ ነፍሶቻችሁ ( ውሸት ) ነገርን ለእናንተ ሸለሙላችሁ ፡ ፡ ስለዚህ መልካም ትዕግስት ( ማድረግ አለብኝ ) በምትሉትም ነገር ላይ መታገዣው አላህ ብቻ ነው » አለ ፡ ፡

' no ' he ( jacob ) said , ' your souls have tempted you to do something . but come sweet patience .
( ያዕቆብ ) « አይደለም ነፍሶቻችሁ አንዳች ነገርን ለእናንተ ሸለሙላችሁ ፡ ፡ ( ሠራችሁትም ) ፡ ፡ መልካምም ትእግስት ( ማድረግ ) አለብኝ ፡ ፡ እነርሱን ( ሦስቱንም ) የተሰበሰቡ ሆነው አላህ ሊያመጣልኝ ይከጀላል ፡ ፡ እነሆ እርሱ ዐዋቂ ጥበበኛ ነውና » አላቸው ፡ ፡

brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
ወንድሞች ሆይ፥ ሰው በማናቸውም በደል ስንኳ ቢገኝ፥ መንፈሳውያን የሆናችሁ እናንተ እንደዚህ ያለውን ሰው በየውሃት መንፈስ አቅኑት፤ አንተ ደግሞ እንዳትፈተን ራስህን ጠብቅ።

" your souls have tempted you to do something evil ! but it is best to be patient : god alone can help me bear the loss you speak of . "
በቀሚሱም ላይ የውሸትን ደም አመጡ ፡ ፡ ( አባታቸው ) « አይደለም ፤ ነፍሶቻችሁ ( ውሸት ) ነገርን ለእናንተ ሸለሙላችሁ ፡ ፡ ስለዚህ መልካም ትዕግስት ( ማድረግ አለብኝ ) በምትሉትም ነገር ላይ መታገዣው አላህ ብቻ ነው » አለ ፡ ፡

and they brought his shirt ( stained ) with blood , a lie . he said : ' no , your souls have tempted you to do something .
በቀሚሱም ላይ የውሸትን ደም አመጡ ፡ ፡ ( አባታቸው ) « አይደለም ፤ ነፍሶቻችሁ ( ውሸት ) ነገርን ለእናንተ ሸለሙላችሁ ፡ ፡ ስለዚህ መልካም ትዕግስት ( ማድረግ አለብኝ ) በምትሉትም ነገር ላይ መታገዣው አላህ ብቻ ነው » አለ ፡ ፡

( o muhammad ) , they had all but tempted you away from what we have revealed to you that you may invent something else in our name . had you done so , they would have taken you as their trusted friend .
እነሆ ከዚያም ወደ አንተ ካወረድነው ሌላን በእኛ ላይ ትዋሽ ዘንድ ሊፈትኑህ በእርግጥ ተቃረቡ ፡ ፡ ያን ጊዜም ወዳጅ አድርገው በያዙህ ነበር ፡ ፡
