from the evil of the sneaky tempter
« ብቅ እልም ባይ ከኾነው ጎትጓች ( ሰይጣን ) ክፋት ፡ ፡

and from the evil of the envious ones .
« ከምቀኛም ክፋት በተመቀኘ ጊዜ ፤ ( እጠበቃለሁ በል ) ፡ ፡ »

from the evil of the retreating whisperer -
« ብቅ እልም ባይ ከኾነው ጎትጓች ( ሰይጣን ) ክፋት ፡ ፡

a revelation from the lord of the universe .
ከዓለማት ጌታ የተወረደ ነው ፡ ፡

and from the evil of the blowers in knots
« በተቋጠሩ ( ክሮች ) ላይ ተፊዎች ከኾኑት ( ደጋሚ ) ሴቶችም ክፋት ፡ ፡

from the evil of the envier when he envies .
« ከምቀኛም ክፋት በተመቀኘ ጊዜ ፤ ( እጠበቃለሁ በል ) ፡ ፡ »

and he is in the highest part of the horizon .
እርሱ በላይኛው አድማስ ኾኖ ፡ ፡

while he was in the highest part of the horizon :
እርሱ በላይኛው አድማስ ኾኖ ፡ ፡

from the evil of the whisperings of the slinking ( shaitan ) ,
« ብቅ እልም ባይ ከኾነው ጎትጓች ( ሰይጣን ) ክፋት ፡ ፡

the second blowing of the trumpet follows it ( and everybody will be raised up ) ,
ለጣቂይቱ የምትከተላት ስትኾን ( ትቀሰቀሳላችሁ ) ፡ ፡

and they came to their father in the early part of the night weeping .
አባታቸውንም በምሽት እያለቀሱ መጡት ፡ ፡

( zaqqum ) is a tree which grows from the deepest part of hell ,
እርሷ በገሀነም አዘቅት ውስጥ የምትወጣ ዛፍ ናት ፡ ፡

a man came running from the farthest part of the city saying , " my people , follow the messengers .
ከከተማይቱም ሩቅ ዳርቻ የሚሮጥ ሰው መጣ ፡ ፡ « ወገኖቼ ሆይ ! መልክተኞቹን ተከተሉ » አለ ፡ ፡

surely the first part of the night is heavier in tread , more upright in speech ,
የሌሊት መነሳት እርሷ ( ሕዋሳትንና ልብን ) ለማስማማት በጣም ብርቱ ናት ፡ ፡ ለማንበብም ትክክለኛ ናት ፡ ፡

then , from the furthest part of the city , a man came running . he said , " my people , follow the messengers .
ከከተማይቱም ሩቅ ዳርቻ የሚሮጥ ሰው መጣ ፡ ፡ « ወገኖቼ ሆይ ! መልክተኞቹን ተከተሉ » አለ ፡ ፡

and during the night prostrate to him and exalt him a long [ part of the ] night .
ከሌሊቱም ለእርሱ ስገድ ፡ ፡ በረዢም ሌሊትም አወድሰው ፡ ፡

and from the remote part of the city there came a man running , he said : o my people ! follow the apostles ;
ከከተማይቱም ሩቅ ዳርቻ የሚሮጥ ሰው መጣ ፡ ፡ « ወገኖቼ ሆይ ! መልክተኞቹን ተከተሉ » አለ ፡ ፡

and [ in part ] of the night exalt him and after prostration .
ከሌሊቱም አወድሰው ከስግደቶችም በኋላዎች ( አወድሰው ) ፡ ፡

and there came running from the farthest part of the town , a man , saying : " o my people ! obey the messengers ;
ከከተማይቱም ሩቅ ዳርቻ የሚሮጥ ሰው መጣ ፡ ፡ « ወገኖቼ ሆይ ! መልክተኞቹን ተከተሉ » አለ ፡ ፡

and from the outermost part of the city came a man running ; he said , “ o my people ! obey those who have been sent . ”
ከከተማይቱም ሩቅ ዳርቻ የሚሮጥ ሰው መጣ ፡ ፡ « ወገኖቼ ሆይ ! መልክተኞቹን ተከተሉ » አለ ፡ ፡
