a warning to humankind,
(اور) بنی آدم کے لئے مؤجب خوف

a warning unto humankind -
(اور) بنی آدم کے لئے مؤجب خوف

i created the jinn and humankind only that they might worship me.
اور میں نے جن اور آدمی اتنے ہی لیے بنائے کہ میری بندگی کریں

and lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning allah -
اور ہم تو یہی سمجھتے رہے کہ ناممکن ہے کہ انسانوں اور جنات اللہ پر جھوٹی باتیں لگائیں

and verily we! we had imagined that humankind and jinn would never forge against allah a lie.
اور ہم تو یہی سمجھتے رہے کہ ناممکن ہے کہ انسانوں اور جنات اللہ پر جھوٹی باتیں لگائیں

and of his signs is, that he created you of dust, then lo! ye are humankind spreading yourselves.
اللہ کی نشانیوں میں سے ہے کہ اس نے تم کو مٹی سے پیدا کیا پھر اب انسان بن کر (چلتے پھرتے) پھیل رہے ہو

and there were gathered together unto solomon his armies of the jinn and humankind, and of the birds, and they were set in battle order;
اور جمع کیے گئے سلیمان کے لیے اس کے لشکر جنوں اور آدمیوں اور پرندوں سے تو وہ روکے جاتے تھے

and indeed (o muhammad) individuals of humankind used to invoke the protection of individuals of the jinn, so that they increased them in revolt against allah);
اور یہ کہ "انسانوں میں سے کچھ لوگ جنوں میں سے کچھ لوگوں کی پناہ مانگا کرتے تھے، اِس طرح اُنہوں نے جنوں کا غرور اور زیادہ بڑھا دیا"

and we assigned them comrades (in the world), who made their present and their past fairseeming unto them. and the word concerning nations of the jinn and humankind who passed away before them hath effect for them. lo! they were ever losers.
اور ہم نے (شیطانوں کو) ان کا ہم نشین مقرر کردیا تھا تو انہوں نے ان کے اگلے اور پچھلے اعمال ان کو عمدہ کر دکھائے تھے اور جنات اور انسانوں کی جماعتیں جو ان سے پہلے گذر چکیں ان پر بھی خدا (کے عذاب) کا وعدہ پورا ہوگیا۔ بےشک یہ نقصان اٹھانے والے ہیں
