and they used to persist in immense wrongdoing.
اور اس بڑے گناہ کی ہٹ (ضد) رکھتے تھے،

my lord! then set me not among the wrongdoing folk.
(تو) اے میرے رب! مجھے ظالم قوم میں شامل نہ فرمانا،

then do not put me, my lord, among the wrongdoing lot.’
(تو) اے میرے رب! مجھے ظالم قوم میں شامل نہ فرمانا،

my lord, then do not place me among the wrongdoing people."
(تو) اے میرے رب! مجھے ظالم قوم میں شامل نہ فرمانا،

and when thy lord called moses, saying: go unto the wrongdoing folk,
(اے رسول(ص)) وہ وقت یاد کرو جب آپ کے پروردگار نے موسیٰ کو پکارا کہ ظالم قوم کے پاس جاؤ۔

when your lord called out to moses, saying, "go to the wrongdoing people,
(اے رسول(ص)) وہ وقت یاد کرو جب آپ کے پروردگار نے موسیٰ کو پکارا کہ ظالم قوم کے پاس جاؤ۔

they swear unto you, that ye may accept them. though ye accept them. allah verily accepteth not wrongdoing folk.
تمہارے آگے قسمیں کھاتے ہیں کہ تم ان سے راضی ہوجاؤ تو اگر تم ان سے راضی ہوجاؤ تو بیشک اللہ تو فاسق لوگوں سے راضی نہ ہوگا

when your lord called out to moses: [saying,] ‘go to those wrongdoing people,
(اے رسول(ص)) وہ وقت یاد کرو جب آپ کے پروردگار نے موسیٰ کو پکارا کہ ظالم قوم کے پاس جاؤ۔

so he escaped from thence, fearing, vigilant. he said: my lord! deliver me from the wrongdoing folk.
تو اس شہر سے نکلا ڈرتا ہوا اس انتظار میں کہ اب کیا ہوتا ہے عرض کی، اے میرے رب! مجھے ستمگاروں سے بچالے

so he left the city, fearful and vigilant. he said, ‘my lord! deliver me from the wrongdoing lot.’
تو اس شہر سے نکلا ڈرتا ہوا اس انتظار میں کہ اب کیا ہوتا ہے عرض کی، اے میرے رب! مجھے ستمگاروں سے بچالے

and [mention] when your lord called moses, [saying], "go to the wrongdoing people -
(اے رسول(ص)) وہ وقت یاد کرو جب آپ کے پروردگار نے موسیٰ کو پکارا کہ ظالم قوم کے پاس جاؤ۔

so he left it, fearful and anticipating [apprehension]. he said, "my lord, save me from the wrongdoing people."
سو موسٰی (علیہ السلام) وہاں سے خوف زدہ ہو کر (مددِ الٰہی کا) انتظار کرتے ہوئے نکل کھڑے ہوئے، عرض کیا: اے رب! مجھے ظالم قوم سے نجات عطا فرما،
