accidental burning of the heating gas in the kerf

the solution: sawing with a thin kerf and precision.

high kerf density across the tread adds a cutting edge to winter traction.

maximum winter performance is ensured by enhancing the kerf edge effect on snowy or icy roads.

finecut consumables provide high quality cuts on thin metal, leaving a clean edge and a narrow kerf.

here, too: thin kerf, high precision, and clean surfaces for both soft and hard wood.

handling performance is improved through the use of 3d kerf which maintain a stable shape during acceleration, braking and cornering.

in order to flush resulting emissions and residues such as slag or melt from the kerf, the laser optic is fed compressed air via a jet system.

this 3d kerf improves tire performance on not only snow or ice covered roads, but also on wet or dry roads which has a positive effect on the friction, braking and grip of the tire.

3d-kerf of hankook’s patent causes the tread blocks to lock together when the tire deforms, creating a more rigid and stable footprint.
